  • It would be fun to hear how Pat would approach this solo today. Hard to top it. Great tune!

  • I think That's my preferred and loved Metheny's composition... he said that he don't know why and from where cames the idea & inspiration for this masterpiece... and he's sure that never he will compose another piece at this level... arrived directly from cosmos.... great & thanx for posted it

  • Awesome, awesome stuff....thx for uploading, cashberg! I would LOVE to see you post the Bright Size Life stuff, even just audio w/ pics.

  • Thanks Cashberg, this video made me feel sure happy. I listen music from Pat since 1983, and that era was better than these days, less comercial

    Boas

  • Glad you like it. I have an audio bootleg of Pat's tour for the Bright Size Life album w/ Jaco, and they perform the tune there, too.

  • @cashberg what do I have to do to get that from you? I have to listen to it.

  • @boasdubbelman Same here. One of my most favorite Pat Metheny compositions. Also one of my favorite Jaco solos on that record. It's just so poignant over those changes.

  • who is on the bass?

  • Mark Egan. He's done some decent Jaco-esque fusion work since Metheny's band.

  • This is a terrific performance of one of my favorite Metheny/Mays tunes. I'm too young to have seen this show at the time, so thanks for posting!

  • aside of Jaco, I very much prefer Mark Egan over Steve Rodby who sounds sometimes too dull. Love Pat's ECM era.

  • one of the best performances of metheny, onkel pos 80!!!
