U can't deny true talent... Their music is perfect on the scales Brandon Boyd is a genius... Bands like faith no more got lots of attention.. Nothing wrong with attention from the media it's gonna happen they have a good sound
whats wrong with being in the public eye? You just compared a rock n roll band to Justin beiber or however you spell his name... dude ur making no sense... what was wrong with pearl jam... chili peppers.. go back to tom petty... back further to CCR ... the radio is a great means of getting ur music out there.. people care way too much what other people think
@TheSquidKiller trust me this song didn't convince me those artists blow hard. Damn it I don't want to get into it, but would you believe that at one time Incubus was in the public eye as much as Justin Bieber, but the difference is that they didn't stay there. People may say that is because they were just another teen sensation but if you really investigate incubus you'll find they didn't like being owned by sony
@TheSquidKiller its that the music industry changed and tried its hardest to shift out funk metal and funky jazz rock completely from the popular music scene
Exactly 3:40 into "Azwethinkweiz", a hidden message of Boyd saying something backwards can be heard: "Thursday night, we smoked indica, and "azwethinkweiz" was born." -Wikipedia.
Dude I love incubus, they deserve way more than what they actually got. Been a fan since 5th grade, when my cousin gave me Drive. Then, I was obsessed and got Morning View which was a great album!
who the fuck is that fuckin guy always fuckin shows up in the fuckin album of my fuckin incubus?! i dream of him and its a nightmare! fuck when someone says incubus that face pop in my mind!
@TonyTheTigre100 umm no lol it's "chuck", not brandon. there's an interview on youtube somewhere where brandon and mike are talking about it. I think it's called "who is chuck"
personally i think that the old stuff, even as a ripoff of rhcp is good, and so is their good stuff, but the mesh of the 2 eras. still heavy but to introduce their new flavor, make yourself is their best album.
its something about the way Brandon Boyd strung his vocab together in the early Incubus era that i like better than the newer stuff, he sustains notes way more often in the newer stuff. it was more about ripping a wicked rhyme
oh yah, err, their new stuff is great too, not just their old stuff! each album changes and is never the same as the last, its all AWESOME! i will always be an incubus fan!
yeah, I'm sure a lot of their stuff was written while they were on drugs haha. and I agree, every single one of their albums is so different, but amazing in it's own way. They all have their own vibe about them. I'd have to say fungus amongus is my favorite genre of Incubus, it's so funky and makes you want to go smoke a bowl or eat some shrooms haha andI don't even know how to explain the feel of s.c.i.e.n.c.e., but it's tied with FA as my favorite CD of theirs. Ahh I fucking love Incubus..
@SuicideShaun ??? I'm not 100% sure which comment that was a reply to, but just to clarify, the RHCP had been around for quite some time before Incubus.
this is such a mr.bungle rip off back in the day brandon was just ripping off mike patton listen to squeeze me macaroni by mr.bungle and you will get what im saying
@hefra344 Yes- I can definitely hear it. Boyd's vocals sound very similar as well. Maybe that's why I liked old Incubus A LOT more than what they are now.
@natash141 no back then what he was doing was ripping off of mike patton because this is when faith no more and mr. bungle were still making music so you can only take so much influence from a band that is out at the same time as yours
@hefra344 lol... maybe , now that you pointed it out, i never grew up ln the 90's so i forgot to think about that.. lol, but atleast they picked up a distinctive sound down the road
@Brollyhero99TOP10 Incubus underrated? Not quite. They've gotten a lot of exposure and recognition. As far as musical talent goes, I'm sure they would get more recognition if their music was more complex, but they seem to not really try to push the envelope too much any more. It's too bad Incubus didn't stick a little bit closer to the jazzy sound they had going (like, with Deep Inside)- I really dug it. Now, they tend to stick closer to a cleaner, pop sound. Still good, but not demanding.
@BoddhasServants It actually isn't arguable whether RHCP or Incubus are more talented. Flea, mind you, is more than just one of the most kick-ass bassists but a kick-ass trumpet player as well. Their guitarists have been no slouches- most notably, John Frusciante, who one can also argue is one of the best guitarists of the last 20 years. RHCP may be assholes- I don't think that detracts from the fact that some of Enjoy sounds like RHCP, and that RHCP have had some VERY talented musicians.
@rickman33 i guess what i meant was that keidis is a dick...flea, frusciante, and chad smith are all great musicians, and yea maybe enjoy is similar to rhcp stuff but it's a genre of music...there are always gonna be some bands that sound similar. i'd choose incubus over rhcp anyday. but you are correct, they're not untalented..
a lot of their music sounds the exact same to me though.
Yes, it is older than Enjoy. Some of the Enjoy songs are just better recorded versions than on Fungus and done with A DJ where Fungus did not have one. This song however is an original that was released on Enjoy.
i was so high on schrooms last time i heard this song, i couldn't decide to take the train, or walk home.... so i must have walked back and forth from the train station to the grocery store around the corner about 10 times.
this song made me feel like i was in a video game.
I don't think Incubus has ever made a song I don't like... newer stuff, this stuff, stuff inbetween... Love it all and it all sounds a little different.
Yes, it was Incubus. The current stuff they're doing is also Incubus, almost moreso than this, because it's more original. Incubus themselves have admitted they were ripping off several artists (RHCP, Mr Bungle) in this era.

@wilbo421 You're a legend mate. There are so many Incubus listeners living in the past. It's all brilliant music, but you've explained it perfectly there
Mainstream or not, they still have better songs than most groups today. They chose to evolve and grow musically. It was their choice and all of it is good.
Morning view might be one of the best cds i ever bought, you can really relax listening to some of the tracks, but science and make yourself are way better
Both "eras" of Incubus are pretty damn awesome, but many of their earlier fans felt the sudden switch of styles between S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and Morning View as a betrayal. I have a different perspective, since I got into them only recently, but I can see where they're coming from. As for Morning View in particular, though I like many of the songs on it (11 AM is especially good), the album as a whole just doesn't have a very good flow.
@FoxGroundsman Actually, if you think about it, Make Yourself was a nice blend of the craziness of S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and the flow that Morning View had. I like to think of the so called "eras" simply as progressions from this into what they are now. I don't think is was very sudden, but that's just my opinion.
@StripMyWorldAway I like Make Yourself much better than Morning View, actually, and I sort of agree, though I think A Crow Left of the Murder is even more like that. Also, the craziness is a little different, especially in the bass. There's just no more of that outrageous funk sound, even where the composition is strong.
@FoxGroundsman the switch of styles between S.C.I.E.N.C.E n Morning view seems drastic cuz ur forgetting that there was an amazing album inbetween....
This little EP is probably some of the best stuff they ever did, fast jazz rock, crazy beats, slapping bass and amazing lyrics compared to their more commercial lovey stuff.
well i do agree music these days sucks, but i also just went to an incubus concert 8/24/09, and they played a lot of good old morning view and ACLOFTM stuff so at least they still play there good shit
too bad acloftm sucked and all the stuff before morning is way better....i would love to see incubus back before morning when they were bad fucking ass not over played on the radio famous

@crappybassplayer What was that? I've never heard of it, but I sure would like to.

This little EP is probably some of the best stuff they ever did, fast jazz rock, crazy beats, slapping bass and amazing lyrics compared to their more commercial lovey stuff.

This song is an acid trip and a half.

the genius of Incubus is that none of their albums sound the same, not even close
