Good job people! I am very happy to see Armenians and Azerbaijanis having peaceful discussion. See how collaboration of two factors, Azerbaijani singer and Armenian language can become one beautiful whole. Peace to Caucasus!
this is great, I always loved Rashid Behboudov for his great voice, his caracter and his personality,.... as an armenian, my best regards to this great human being, he didn't have borders, he was for every one who loved music,...yashasoon.... you are a hero.... and live in our hearts for ever....
Great Rashid! It is ironic that he died under circumstances related to Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. Damn those who destroyed the spirit of Caucasus. So much potential has been lost over greed, racism and stupidity.
Actually the title of the song is "Belbul" (the nightingale) and it has very erotic / sexy lyrics. Written by A. Bartevian. The Rosy Armen version can be found in the "multimedia" section of her website rosyarmen point c o m under the "Armenian Songs" with amended lyrics that make it even more sexy.
I have also heard that he may have been part Armenian, but all I can confirm is that he taught in Yerevan and that most of his touring bands consisted of several Armenians.
No, he was not Armenian. He was born in Georgia and studied in Yerevan - Armenia and started his works there. Later he moved to Baku... I'm Armenian and I really love his songs. This shows how Caucasus cultures are bind together. I hope we will see friendship in Caucasus again...
he is amazing ...he is saying the "you have betrayed me, but I know that spring will come, the birds will sing again, the roses will bloom...you look like a glowing sun,...years will pass, you will sing to me again"

My mom once received some of our relatives things - among them was a Rashid Behboodov record. I used to listen to it when I was little :)
This is the best rendition of a non-Armenian singing in Armenian. And his voice... oh, his voice!!

Good times... There was at least respect between our nations. And the artists were cooperating with each other...

This is a great interpretation of a beautiful Armenian song. This is the first time I hear it by Behbudov, but I love it.
There is also a fantastic version by Rosy Armen (now a classic hit of hers) with clearly somewhat different and definitly more erotic sexy lyrics...

I have some of his Persian works, I will post them. I warn you though, he has a very thick accent when singing Persian.

I had his audio cassettes when I was in Iran. I love them so much although I know a little Turkish. I am waiting for them eagerly.
