the whole song is in E minor, but then dave's solo is in A minor. So that means you dont have to play the F sharp

I Learn by ear, and only know the basic C scale. That's all I've got

then learn E minor and A minor. A minor is the same thing as C minor except that you start on an A. and E minor has the F sharp.

when I started, I was basing everything of the one note I knew (low d) from song of time (legend of zelda) And I went on from there

Thats awesome! When I started learning the accordion I guess I coulda gone down that path and improved my ear and learn by it but ended up having my Uncle showing me how to read sheet music. Thats awesome, I've never had just a super good ear when it comes to matching music, props to ya.
