  • only problem is reload.

  • AMERICA - FUCK YA!

  • have you noticed for many time the little stand alone 4 loader turret pass, i think it's about 7 or 9 time in the entire video xD

  • how long does it take to reload?

  • We need greener weapons....

  • man this is amazing !

  • Now make a solar powered weapon :)

  • Oooh ... equipping a fleet of bombers with Metal Storm boxes would be brutal and frightening as hell. A new twist to 'carpet bombing'!!

  • Weapons like this would be near-ideal for setting up outposts and point-defense, provided that it is supported by decent sensors and programming. Meanwhile, free up manpower for other jobs. (Machines would be better for this sort of job; undertaking outpost and sentry duties for hours becomes too boring for men.)

  • Don't tell Activision!

  • I love how everyone thinks they're clever trying to knock every weapon on youtube. I'm pretty sure the inventors are smarter than an internet dipshit. Not hard to waterproof the eletronics, I have a radio in the shower.. wow pretty freakin hard to waterproof stuff huh? EMP? How would you deliver an emp pulse that close to one of those to stop it? They are perfect weapons to shoot down incoming air threats. Foot traffic? It has SENSORS FOR THAT.. dear god people, try listening to the commentary.

  • @Cartmanland98 i agree 100% man. this weapon is going to change warfare as we know it

  • WHat about water and EMP's? Would they affect the electronics?

  • Make defense not offense all your doing is razing the bar which means more people dead

  • what if you dropped it in a puddle?

  • I'm pretty sure the guys who made this have realized why making handheld guns like this is superfluous. Assault rifles should be killing on the first shot. Having a really fast shooting gun doesn't cure any of a handheld guns problems.

  • 5:30 sooo amazing voice

  • ENEMY EMP! ELECTRONICS ARE DOWN!

  • @TheNecoconneco Prepare for BF3 fanboy attack...

  • @aiden1340 nothing wrong with BF3, I haven't got it yet tho' and I HATE MW3... think ima sell it to get BF3, but I just thought the comment might provide some people with some amusement, and there aren't many BF3 related comments of a similar nature to that one that can be made or that I know of as I don't have BF3 yet =P preemptive strike!

  • @TheNecoconneco I too think BF3 looks great but I also like MW3 (for some reason lol). It's just that BF3/MW3 faboys always rage at basically anything related too the games.

  • @TheNecoconneco EMP hardened electronics?

  • @bigglessy O_O YOU CAN GET THOSE?!

  • @TheNecoconneco They exist yeah, you essentially cover the wiring in a metal grid, exactly like a Faraday cage. The mesh takes the brunt of the electromagnetic pulse, leaving the wiring mostly untouched. They use it in nuclear bunkers like that at cheyenne mountain. It's a bit more expensive and clunky for commercial electronics, but yeah the tech has existed for decades. Just gotta be improved upon.

  • dear santa .....

  • It has 1 major Flaw vs Standard Weapons ....if it uses an electronic firing ... its susceptible to EMP...Just say'n ...

  • i think its good if you could have a normal rifle that could fire both metal storm rounds and normal rounds you could have a full magazine with one round in the chamber and 20 rounds in the barrel .

  • It would suck if the enemy triggered an EMP and the only you had were electronic weapons like this.

  • @mcleanm54 mhm and let me ask you this......do you play CoD much?

  • @CombatGuner62 Of course. Everyone knows that call of duty is EXACTLY like real world warfare...Duh!

  • Scary

  • Is it water-proof?? If not, all the enemy will need is a Super Soaker to win.

  • A lot of negativity about this weapon.... Remember this is just the beginning of this weapon. Like anything else, technology will evolve to iron out any problems(such as reload time), and reduce cost.

  • it costs 400000$ to fire that weapon.... for 12 seconds

  • How long does it take to reload the 16'000 rounds, an hour ?

  • 2:15 The 'box' version would be great for a final line of defense against missiles. 120 barrels, 10 rounds per barrel, 1200 rounds in a fraction of a second. Link one of these to a phalanx on a ship and anything that gets inside a certain range triggers this thing to launch a wall of lead!

  • No one will ever detonate a nuke again it is just too frowned upon and with american forces everywhere the risk of a nuke affecting the people who launched it is too great...so except for the crazy middle east that would be ok with blowing up the world metal storm should be ok

  • Dear Santa......

  • So , how are electronic weapons in the water? ^_^

  • @childofreletivity Actually very good! Conductivity of Salt water (or fresh water) still doesn't compare to a metal on metal contact. For instance, even a frayed electrical cord will work underwater quite well, (although of course the current losses to the water, although small, are significant enough to fibrillate nearby life)

  • Very fest reload. Just change the barrel....

  • the fastest firing hand gun, the slowest reloading time and risk of water damage in real world battle.

  • anyone else see the guy point that gun at the host and pretend to shoot him? 2:45

  • two critical things they neglect to mention..

    1. how its reloaded

    2. how long it takes to reload

  • @patw101 Just saying but people said the same thing about the original gun... and look how it evlolved and turned out. There are tons of mechanisms that could make reload time faster, the problem is cost effectiveness...

  • this sucks since the first bullets have a shorter barrel thus having a lower accuracy

  • What happens if a bullet was loaded in backwards?

  • He always likes to get "As a Former Navy Seal" on every show lol. I mean shit kudo's to the guy Theres no way I'd make it through the crazy seal training, but I'm just sayin . :p

  • @IcechickenSr im not an expert but it wouldnt hit the thing that sets it off

  • ....three letters EMP and the electronic gun's fucked =/

  • @patryklucarz Right because there is no such thing as shielding and the rang of EMPs cover the distance of football fields. You might as well just use a gun.

  • technically its multiple guns, cluster fucked into one.

  • well that is nice and all. but when can i buy it?

  • MOST POWERFUL? NAHHH

  • How do you reload the thing?

  • @djmz1969 You switch out the tubes the same way you'd switch out a magazine or an ammo box. Simply eject the tube, slide in a new tube, lock into place, good to go.

  • And then we entered a lightning storm... Sending all bullets at the same time... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

  • It might not jam, but what happens if someone fires off an EMP weapon/bomb? Or a nuclear bomb? That gun's circuits will be completely fried and completely useless.

  • @Kage6415 That's what I was thinking. What if someone has electronic jamming set up? They'd have to make a way so that it's shielded from electronic interference.

  • Now I know what I want for christmas

  • With weapons like these the world could destroy itself. I think this is just to much.

  • A gun that can fire up to 16,000 rounds per second is a 36 barrel prototype machine-gun. Rate of the fire speed of this gun is one million rounds per minute.

  • They neglect to mention this was a 100% Australian invention, Michael O'Dwyer of Brisbane , I fucking hate how Americans take credit for these things .

  • How would a machine gun be arguably anything BUT lethal? Wouldn't it be "absolutely lethal?"

... So, a machine gun is fluffy, kind, loving... anything BUT lethal right?

  • Wish there would be no neef for any future new-coming weapons...

    PEACE !

  • @Inspiration525 *need

  • only for artillery cause note they did NOT show the reloading and the time it takes

  • if only this shit is available in a BF3 jet upgrade...

  • Machine gun is old since the principle is centuries old..? Might be, but who gives a f... if it still works adequately? You could probably produce a simple machine gun for 50 bucks, but how friggen much does a metalstorm cost? To continue, the metalstorm's developers argue that ordinary guns can jam and cause a dangerous situation, but what if metalstorm "jammed" permanently in the event of an EMP and the crew being shot at with traditional machine guns? At least I would be pissed off.

  • oh not for me, im so bad.....

  • This is the futute of artillery

  • EMP grenades= ur fucked w8 those things exist right?

  • @TheCitrusGames

    True,

But you can design it so that EMP's don't effect them... don't now how exactly but ^^

  • lol off the shelf warheads, i wish...

  • shoots fast but how long for it to reload?

  • @F22Raptorific Wouldn't need to worry about reloading. Enemy forces would be scattered everywhere filled with lead.

  • @F22Raptorific Stick a new stack in the barrel, or just put on a new fully loaded barrel, much like sticking a new barrel on a regular 50 cal machine gun when the barrel gets too hot. Extremely fast reloads in other words >:)

  • @F22Raptorific easy u just drop the rounds down the barrel

  • @teamCHAOTICx u r loading more than 10 rounds in 1 barrel, and there r more than 30 barrels.

  • The roman candle, a traditional firework design, employs the same basic concept; however, the propellant continues to burn in the roman candle's barrel, igniting the charge behind the subsequent projectile. The process is repeated by each charge in turn, ensuring that all projectiles in the barrel are discharged sequentially (and inevitably) from the single ignition.

  • @F22Raptorific you never have to reload if you met the enemy XD

    sry for bad english :/

  • @F22Raptorific

As they said in the video, the barrel is the magazine.

So I would suggest that they would develop a system in which you just simply replace the barrel.

But if this works as great as they say it will, the question is, is there need for any fast reloading ;)

  • How about an EMP ?

will it jam the weapon ?

so i can take all weapons down at once ?

  • @mebossyounothing

well, it might have anti-radiation lead protection, or it might be basic circuitry

but to be honest, in order to detonate you the rounds you need to attach a detonator to each one, you wont need to do anything, who ever relys on this type of weapons are either going to run out of bullets, or the weapons will wear down very fast.

  • why can't they do the multiple barrel stuff with regular guns and there is so much bad stuff like reloading hacking battery runs out the grenade gets jammed and blows up the barrel u drop the gun in water and get electricuted and if u drop it i doubt it will survive

  • How the hell are you meant to reload it :S???

  • @JASIFC I assume this would be hauled around by a vehicle, the barrel is the mag so you would have a supply of spare barrels in your vehicle. Although once fired it's location would become enemy intel, so you would have to relocate. On the other hand if this was left to guard an area using sensors once fired that's it.

  • This weapon technology should be used against the Jews.

  • @Armornone *pimp slaps to death*

  • my pistol here is a way more faster.. 10,000,000 spermcells per 15 seconds.

  • @RR09ification pervert

  • @RR09ification 15? damn your fast

  • @RR09ification

    hahahahahhahaha

  • Although there is no moving parts the slightest amount of moisture causes this weapon to hand grenade when its fired. If the first charge in the barrel doesnt ignite all the charges fired after it explode in the barrel. So in other words Combat efficiency = 0

  • @KoalaCaustv3 4:03, the projectiles would push the others out supposedly, not make the barrel explode

  • @KoalaCaustv3

Good point. I have been trying to figure out why there stock is only at 0.09

  • :D nice shooting! now reload

  • 5:00 He said Battlefield :D

  • Aussie pride!

  • Aren't we killing enough people already?

  • I wonder how well it works when you've been in the field for months and the weapon starts getting wet and dirty. I can imagine it has to be cleaned very often to prevent mayhem in the electronic circuits.

  • @chenrikl cleaning wouldn't do anything, remember there's no moving parts so there's no mechanism to jam...

If water gets into this thing, it's dead forever. They're gonna have to seal this thing tight. Only thing you might have to clean the barell so the electric circuits can make contact with the bullets.

  • @keenkennyny I know that there are no moving parts, the contact with the bullets was exactly what I was thinking of ;) And i think that this weapon is because of this more sensitive to dirt and moisture than conventional firearms.

  • How do you reload this gun?

  • didnt anyone notice they didnt say how long it would take to reload??

  • @Isabugas kkk we'll see about that!

  • someone sets of an emp and your screwed

  • It's just like a roman candle, but firing bullets and grenades. The weapon itself looks like a battery firework. But how do you achieve same speed for every projectile if for each the runway length in the barrel changes? At short range it won't make much of a difference, but at long range grenades would start landing many meters apart. To use it as an unmanned firing position at short range - this seems much more plausible.

  • This should be a MW3 killstreak 8)

  • Comment removed

  • @Isabugas What's a god?

  • use emp and metalstorm wouldnt work

  • how about wen u run out of bullets.....u gotta carry anotha gun as it cannt be reloded

  • @viktohot1 yeah, how do they reload these things? never mentions that does it..

  • if guns run on electricity what happens when you run out of juice? USE DURACELL or you might die

  • @XxscrewedfilmsxX Duracell, or energizer

  • dear santa

  • It costs $400,000 to fire vis thing for 12 seconds..

  • All this weapons have everything BUT smart. Those weapons are mean to destroy ourselves! I respect war and just wars but nowadays "free" and "democratic" nations have turned into fascistic-Hitler-Like morons.

  • Over a million rounds a minute?

This should have been called 'How To Bankrupt A Country In 3 Easy Steps'

    1. Charge Battery

    2. Switch on

    3. Go for a cuppa.

  • The ultimate arsenal to kill one another, great progress humanity!

  • Am I the only one who doesn't understand what the bullet *propellant* is?????

  • @stopstickers I think explosives (is it cordite?) just like normal rounds.

  • The USA didn't want any of this.......

don't mess with Australians for a while...........

  • Ok but what happens when an EMP go's off?

  • hook the grendes on to an A-10. It would be 3x more lethal than it would be. Imagine.

  • @paulpierce1314 The avenger cannon can already fire explosive rounds.

  • raaaappppppppp!!! hold on I need to reload. 1...2...3...4...5...what for it....6...7...8... AH HELL some one throw something at that guy! Is there a fast way to reload that thing. It's not like you can just slam another 30 rounder in it. Can you? Can you tube feed it or something?

  • geiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiil

  • i would love this gun the only thing is what if the electric signal dies or runs out of energy

  • fires 1,000 US$ per second.

  • Is this the new Metal Gear from MGS4?

  • i dont like metal storm. I like guns because they're completely mechanical, like a clock. This defeats the purpose.

  • @Metallica9399 What?

  • It takes 400,000 dollars to fire this weapon...for 0.000000000012 seconds.

  • @ramprire You can't really fire a weapon for 0.000000000012 seconds since it wouldn't have time to shot a single bullet.

  • @ramprire why fire it?

  • @ramprire not on my tax money

  • @ramprire

its expensive but if you think about it Iraq has 17 trillion barrels of oil or more

sadly USA will be the strongest country forever

the only thing higher than this are hydrogen bombs but doubt itll ever be used

  • navy seal suks swedish parasuit hunters is the best

  • Throw in an EMP and all circuit boards are fried. Bye bye gun.

  • @cuivienel Mechanical gun jams. Bye bye soldier.

  • marine 1: im out!

    marine 2: 3.76mm

    marine 1:no AA

  • For all you COD players, this is what the G11 is, that's why you reload the barrel and it only has one attachment; a scope.

  • @XDOGSxOFxWARX

You dont "reload" the barrel of the G11 in COD. Its a magazine full of "caseless" ammunition like that used in metal storm.

  • @Odinforever2000 Yeah know shit, but you still reload it. Your contradicting yourself, i said exactly the same thing in different order.

  • @XDOGSxOFxWARX

COD kids...I didn't contradict myself. The G11 is loaded (and subsequently re-loaded) by a magazine like other firearms. You do not "reload the barrel" as the ammunition is not loaded into the barrel and staged one round after another (in the barrel) like metal storm.

Where Metal storm and the G11 are similar (but not the same) is they use caseless ammunition.

If you like gun porn theres some on the G11 in japanese

  • @Odinforever2000 Don't waste my time kid all you do is repeat the same thing i said so stfu kid.

  • emp? lol if there is an emp ur fucked

  • thats an amazing weapon that can change the face of warfare as we know it

  • Its not a good weapon. You can just use an EMP and disable it.

  • put that shit on gigantic par of bionic robot legs that you can stand on and my nerdiest dreams will have come true

  • Now, the only thing left to do, is to create an enemy. Now... who are going to fuck up?

  • Are we going to sell these weapons to the Chinese now?

  • mw4????

  • What if it gets wet?

  • i wanna see them shoot a million shots with it

  • Guys EMP, in the unlikely event of a nuclear detonation/war, can only be generated by very large yield warheads detonating a a very high altitude. Current technology would require an ICBM or SLBM to deliver a said warhead at that altitude. Once things go nuclear .. all bets are off anyway. Assuming this would be used in the European / Asian theater - and EMP nuke would be just as harassing to enemy technologies. Oh we have been hardening against EMP for decades.. non issue.

  • Umm yeah looks cool but i would feel safer with a good old AK-47 or M4

  • That's not future weapon actually. Such technology was used by Soviet soldiers in WW2. Watch watch?v=VmI-brWIyXo (The progamm is in russian but there's an old video captured during ww2) This weaponry was modernised and now russian army has: watch?v=ekzfWEUlc9k and watch?v=TYKRmr3K4B0

  • Ban-bannnnnng.

Russian tank crew member: "WTF was that?"

Tank commander: "Stupid americans just wasted 200 000 $ on us. Proceed to the objective."

  • Our Bullets Will Block The Sun.

  • @gw2005 why would you assume it will never be used?

  • how unnecessary

  • what if there is no electricity socket? O.O

  • HOLY SHI- WOW THAT IS GOOD, GUESS YOU CAN'T CHARGE AS GROUND UNITS ANYMORE

  • Ok ,despite my name blantly stating I'm just in airsoft ,I'm curious ,how the hell do you reload this?and if it takes so long to reload what if you miss?

  • Enemy spotted! Fire! *press enter*

    *Warning sound*

    "Program is not responding"

    Ctrl + Alt + Del

    *Computer Freezes*

    *Restart*

"Private, give me the rocket launcher"

  • Damn what if they now lined up shells in a Tank or Artellery barrel O.o now that would be even more impressive! They problably would need a lot of heat shielding though.

  • more bullets=more money needed

  • stop inventing new weapon already...just teach soldier the KAMEHAMEHA

  • @huyhuyhuytae calm down it was just a joke

  • @huyhuyhuytae WATCH TV FAG

  • @huyhuyhuytae hahaha the uploader comment received too many negatives votes xD

  • @huyhuyhuytae UMAD BRAH?

  • @huyhuyhuytae Lighten up.

  • @huyhuyhuytae Grow a sense of humor.

  • @0bserver00

    Grow up

  • @0bserver00 who the fuck needs to know that?
