Platinis freekicks were kind of measured and manufactured, but Zico's feekicks looked affortless if you know what I mean, Zico looked natural whil;e platini looked like he had to work hard for things, am I right? I dunno!
I understand what you mean. But Zico trained for hours, day in day out to perfect his shootingtechnique, and especially his freekicks (from the age of a litle boy).
He had a big influence on the games he played. A bit like Zidane. Always free to get the pass, good in the combination, great football-mind, and technique.

From Europe here, and it's very true Zico hardly ever gets a mention. Platini was amazing, but Zico was GOD as far as i'm concerned.
