This show was the sole responsible for the Stones touring Argentina on the Voodoo Lounge tour and starting a love relationship with the audience down there. Keith was truly impressed and if not mistaken this is the largest show the Winos ever played as top of the bill.
@niushork Yeah man, in fact Keef made that stadium concert in Argetnina 3 years before the Voodoo Lounge Tour (1995) . I was there, Nov 20th 1992. For the first time in his career a whole stadium was filled just to see him play. Argentina love the stones and we know Keef is the real deal. "ole ole ole, ole ole ole ola, ohhhh soy de Rchards, es un sentimiento, no puedo paraaar!"
Keith's solo effort here was in answer to Mick's attempt to market himself as a solo act. It was Mick who came crawling back to the Stones after his failure to connect with the audience, because Keith is the force who made the Rolling Stones. As good as he was as a Front Man (the best), Mick couldn't have made it without Keith Richards.
@DeputyDawg999 -- The thing with Mick solo is that he sounded like anybody else in the 80's. There was the Jagger voice over tracks that completely lacked the cool groove that complements his vocal style so well. Mick needs Keith to make him sound like Mick. Take any of these X-pensive Winos tracks and have Mick sing it, and it's the Stones.
@DeputyDawg999 Oh, hell. Why do people always get better about solo efforts? Everyone should be able to express themselves individually. I for one, LOVE all of the solos....and the joint projects. Look at Bill Wyman doing Green River. Fantastic.
