  • no car can duplicate a vr6 sound

  • god damn vr6 sounds so good... i love my 1.8t tho

  • i own a 01 jetta vr6 full loaded all decked out.shit i cant even began to tell u how much it has pissed my $ away.i have had it for 5 years and put 17,543 miles on it bought it with 83k. it has set in my yard and the most tire wear is bc it has been parked. if it wasnt for how bad ass this car looked and my strange love for it i would burn the pos.but i have put so much money in it and work. it would be like burning the 6k i bought it for and then the 4k in repairs and shit breaking..what to do

  • How much was your exhaust ? I have a 2000 jetta 1.8t and I'm look for an exhaust system and your sounds pretty nice.

  • Borla sounds better.

  • did you have to cut out a spot for the exhaust?

  • @LaceChane Yes. Read through the comments for the details on how to do it.

  • Sounds like a beast :) I fucking love vr6's. Mine sounds pretty good too.

  • how much was the exhaust? and where did you get it??

  • VR's have a beastly lope

  • Looking at the techtonics / magnaflow setup for the mk2 VR6 I'm building. Are you running 1 or two resonators? Sounds great

  • @motorawaylive thanks, dude. it's got one resonator, i didn't even think 2 was an option.

  • lower it

  • @a2thej89 that was the next thing i did. exhaust was the first mod to this car.

  • @havmatic actually, i guess i lied. the tail lights and rims were the first 2 mods, the exhaust was the first real mod - it took more than half an hour to install.

  • hey how hard was it to install? did you have to do any welding.. i'm thinking about geting the catback magnaflow but do not want to pay a shop to install.. thanks

  • @dirteeter32 no welding required to install, but you should buy a new exhaust "clamp" where the cat-back meets the cat. It's more like a sleeve than one of those old school U-shaped exhaust clamps and costs around $20. If you can change your oil and rotate your tires, you can probably install this relatively easily. Biggest hassle for me was cutting out the stock exhaust, which I did with a Sawzall. I suppose you could do it with a hack saw if you were so inclined.

  • would get annoying

    and its a cop magnet

  • @skateer25 it's not loud enough to attract attention from the cops. on the highway it's not even much louder than the factory exhaust.

  • daaamn i love ths sound!!!!

  • im just wondering .. since i dnt know about cars and stuff. do you really need all the exhaust kit to have a good sound like the sound of your car? or just the muffler?

  • @AngelicSouls you don't need the kit but it's a lot easier to install a kit than to replace the factory muffler with an aftermarket one while keeping the rest of the exhaust stock

  • sounds so nice

  • was there any noticeable power gain?

  • @custer175 not really, but i don't have any other engine mods

  • Comment removed

  • That is just perfect!! A nice deep and mellow sound!! Gotta love VRs

  • guys, when putting in this exhaust, do you need to replace just the muffler or the pipes and cat converter??

  • no you dont need to replace the converter and pipes

  • just got my custom exhaust for my vr6 ima try to post up my sound pretty soon

  • yes i am anoobie here, but is Vr6 really good cars to tune up and put after markets on them>?? was wondering cuz i wanted to knwo whats betst for my vr6 thnx

  • What an amazing sound!

  • how much did this cost?

  • how much did it cost you to install it?

  • @i15h2000 zero, did it myself in the driveway. took longer to get the factory system off the car than it did to put the magnaflow back on. about 3 hours total.

  • okay this may seem like a dumbass question laugh idc. i just want a little advice.

i just bought a 1994 volkwagen passat vr6. has cai, chip, an stage two clutch. stock exhaust....

i want to get a magnaflow exhaust just like your for it. but no one makes a kit. all i need to know is what size your pipeing is from the cat back

  • 2.25 or 2.5, large debate over what is better. Corrado uses 2.36 but good luck finding it.

  • vr6 sound is so beatiful

  • reminds me of a r32. very nice.

  • how much was that?

  • I want one for mine sooo bad

  • 24V

  • hows the sound from inside the car?

  • is the 2001 12v or 24v

  • 12v

  • 12v

  • dude to get that exhaust on there did u hav 2 replace the bumper or wus it just like a replacement lip?

  • he cut the bumper

  • yup you need the rear valance cut out

  • actually shows how much u know and how young and ignorant you are...check the original german name and tell me what a "bora" is..dip shit

  • hey 2pacthug law shit nigga bitch it is also called a jetta in other places then where you live...

  • wtf are u smokin its called jetta in the states and canada it gots more names then just 1 num nuts

  • in us its jetta

    in mx its bora

and eu its vento..... get ur shit rite then u can make comments about THE jetta...

  • eh are you sure?

I'm pretty sure but not positive that the Mk4 4-door sedan is called the Jetta in the US and the Bora in Europe. The Mk3 4-door sedan is called the Jetta in the US and the Vento in Europe. Please correct me if I am wrong b/c honestly I am not sure.

  • in mexico the IV model is jetta and the 2007 are boras. and the model in the video are bora in europe.

  • does your car drone really bad when accelerating around 2000 rpm?? i have same exhaust on my car and the droning is horrible. sounds great though!! but i wish it didn't drone so much.

  • yeah, mine drones in the 2000-2500 range but it's not terrible. Over 3000 it sounds great.

  • What the model number exactly of the cat back?

  • I forget the model number exactly, but it's the 2.25" system for 2002-2005 Jetta with the bumper cutout.

  • Comment removed

  • hey dude, i purchased the magnaflow exhaust system but i dont have a sound anywhere near yours, what cat do you have and if you dont mind, whats your setup.

  • My engine is pretty much stock except for the Magnaflow and a K&N drop-in filter. What engine you got? Also, did you get the 2.25" Magnaflow or the 2.5"? Mine is the 2.25" but I think the 2.5" comes with a larger muffler which may sound quieter or at least different.

  • i have a mk3 vr6, i have the 2.5 but a stock cat so i dont know if thats the difference

  • i have a stock cat too, so my guess is it's the 2.5" exhaust with the longer muffler. is yours quieter?

  • yea it is quieter, only time i really get a good sound is when i rev it up high

  • i think its because the Mk3 have different sounds. The MK4 have a deeper growl, idk if you can tell the difference but just compare the two and you will see the difference too. Good luck:)

  • you gota let it break in for a month or so, when i put my magnaflow in it was kinda quiet, after like 2 months it became nice and loud but not extremely loud

  • sounds like a r32 :) very nice

  • and if by somechance it does keep the cel light on, then take the cat back and get a cat delete pipe and tune/reprogram the ecu with the catalytic converter deleted and the cel will not come on while running without the catalytic converter.

  • u barely reved the shit? i wana hear that mother fuckin run not idle

  • lmao

  • Aight well maybe I'll try and make another video going up through the gears or something. There's lots of other videos on here of people revving the piss outta their VR6's, so I wanted to put something that kinda reflected more normal usage because it would have been nice to see when I was exhaust shopping. For the record though, I did take it to 5500 on that one high rev near the end :)

  • what? that didnt sound like 5500. and u can make a short video with a low normal usage sound and redline it real quick. i do like the way it sounds tho. i have a flowmaster on my vr6 but thats temp. i want a real exhaust system. i gota admit it sounds good with a super40 tho

  • hey dude my dads givin me his jetta 1.8t its a 2000.2001 i belive, do u have any suggestions of what i should get for an exhaust system, i would love a sound similar to your cars,

  • the same set up just the one made for the 1.8t

  • thanks dude

  • yo i heard that you cant pass your inspection test if you have somthin like this on your car, is that true?

  • false. on a cat back system its from the catalytic converter back. now if you get a performance catalytic converter that is not obd2 compliant then your engine light will be on saying something like catalyst below threshold. but they also make the obd2 comliant magnaflow cat that wont set off your engine light and since the jetta is a ulev (ulta low emmissions vehicle) it will not fail the emissions tests.

  • thanks dude i appreciate it

  • what about if you have a magnaflow hightflow cat. do you think the CEL will still be on?

  • it shouldnt be since magnaflow makes the obd1 and obd2 compliant cats

  • Wow, that really does sound like an R32.

  • this sound R32

  • that sounds like a 24v !!!!

    is it?

  • I wish it was, it's just a regular 12v. They didn't offer the 24v until 2003 I think.

  • yea i have a 2003 24VT and i love it to deth

  • where did you get the exhaust

    ?

  • hey man did you have to cut the valence?

  • Yeah, but only because I put the exhaust from 2002 and up car that already was supposed to have the notch. They also make a 1999-2001 exhaust that comes under the valence so you don't need to cut it. I liked the looks better this way though.

  • yea i know. Thanks for the info man. Was it hard to cut? Is it noticeable that you cut it? Great car man.

  • Thanks dude. The cut was pretty easy, I really didn't have to cut a whole lot to make it fit. You have to really get close to tell that it wasn't factory.

  • i'm 6'3, 200. but thanks for being a douche

  • what size piping is it? Nice car bro

  • get a life serginmatius, hey nice exhaust sound man!!!!

  • where did you buy that, was it a shop or an online website, ive been trying to find a reputable website that sells performance parts for jettas

  • are you serious? have you ever been on VORTEX? look there first! techtonics tuning, ECS tuning, everyone makes a dang exhaust for jettas!

  • I couldn't really find exhaust for Jetta's either so maybe not everyone does make a good exhaust for them, smartass.

  • VrSex

  • i have 94 jetta gls but dont know what kind of exhaust to get

  • check out a 2.25" TT exhaust.

  • Sounds great! Is it resonated?

  • Thanks, man! It's got the resonator that comes with the Magnaflow kit.

  • hey is this the one with the bumper cutouts?

  • mag muffler and resonator?

  • if u want a nice sound u get 2.5 piping with a remus muffler its like an orgasim

  • dude...that is sick..yea im looking 4 exhaust for my 01 passat.. i was looking into borla...but after hearing urs its similar to what im look for...but i need help....n e one have Suggestion?

  • THIS IS not Jetta its BORA!!!!!!!

  • in the us its named the jetta and europe its the bora ( same car ) :s

  • a ok thanks

  • THIS IS NOT POLAND, ITS AMERICA...

  • the best 6 is vr6

  • Havmatic, is your exhaust a 2.5? It sounds really sick and that is means some business. I have been doing research and trying to decide on what to go with. I have a 02 vr6 glx. I was think a tt 2.5 with either a borla or flowmaster exhaust, but hearing your magnaflow, I am having second thoughts. I checked on their site, they don't have a plug and play sysytem. Any suggestions?

  • Actually bro, it's only 2.25". The 2.5" is overkill unless you've got some power adders on the VR6 and the 2.25" doesn't sacrifice any torque, which is what the VR is all about anyway. Magnaflow offers a plug and play cat-back, it will take more time to remove the factory exhaust than to get the Magnaflow installed.

  • Actually man, I do. I have a CAI right now, but my later plans are to add a turbo. I will seriously look into it and see what I find out. Thanks, man.

  • whats up bro i seen that you did a before and after u got the magnaflow catback, i was just wonderin if you bought that back cut out bumper to fit the tips or if you just cut it out you self

  • I just cut it myself. My factory valence had a crack where the cutout needed to be, so I figured I'd try and do the cutout myself and if I screwed it up I'd just go buy a 2002 and up valence. It came out OK so I decided to stick with it. Much tighter fit than the factory valence with the exhaust cutout.

  • nice im gona try it with mine, looks good, thanks

  • how did you cut the valence?what did you use? because my magnaflow is coming in next week... i cant wait.

  • I used an air saw made for cutting sheetmetal, it was actually overkill and melted the plastic somewhat. I'd suggest doing it by hand using a hack saw with a fine tooth blade on it.

  • thanks dude

  • I read one of your previous comments. Are you saying that if I get the exhaust for the 99-01 models that I do not need the valance cut out? I have the same year car you do and do not have the cut out. I dont want to cut it out that is why I am wondering. thanks

  • Yeah, if you get the one for your year, you don't need to cut the valence. The pypes come out under the valence, but I didn't really like how it looked and I was concerned about it being too low, especially since I lowered my car after the video was made. I think the ends of the tip are different too, the 99-01 model has a rolled edge while the 02-05 exhaust has a straight cut edge so it looks kinda like a the M3/M5 exhaust.
