Alot of the Manly players were overlooked because there were already more established players out there, also there was feeling around the camp that alot of other players preferred playing for the club instead of rep football e.g. Jamie Lyon and that other players had the same sentiment. The selectors were on the fence because manly conceded more penalties than any other team despite still winning.
