  • unless you stand in a mud puddle you should be ok the mud will shed off as you run but water will go throught them i tend to avoid mudpuddles when im walking or running

  • Im planning on getting these for everday use in the winter months, do they keep your feet warm? I have bikiloa LS's right now they're not water proof what so ever.

  • @jpodejko i have bikiloas also they are not ment to be waterproof they are ment for people with larger feet and they allow us to run anywhere from snow to asphalt to rivers

  • @helexable so my bikila LS's would work fine for everyday winter use?

  • @jpodejko i think they would if you wear the socks, i personally dont have to worry about it cause i live in southwest louisiana so we dont get snow but the cold isnt bad in these shoes if its not like extremely cold

  • @helexable It gets to be around 0 degrees maybe lower here in NY during winter so....

  • how the hell do you run in snow without going numb, even with socks as they'll just get wet?

  • do they work good?

  • are they water proof or does mud go through them like nike butterflies did in 2004?

  • @Brokent3eth My lil nephew said he found Bigfoot tracks along the beach during a recent trip to Astoria, OR. It was just my Vibrams. lol

  • Your credits are awesome. :D

  • I bought the KSO's myself about a year or more ago, and decided to go with the injinji socks since I figured I might need the extra cushion. I think I wore them twice. My wife now uses the socks at home. I can't stand how they feel with the KSO's. Unless you somehow got a vibram that is a size too big, you don't need the socks. The shoes feel way better without them.

  • wow the injini socks are for pussies

  • i wonder if when you're wearing these, you get an urge to say "RARRR!!!" to anyone you meet?

  • I still prefer Nike Free Run.

  • what brand of socks are you wearing?

  • @jeremebonesaw Injinji toe socks :)

  • @nishakira Do they come in packs of 6 or something or do you have to buy them one buy one?? I have seen them around.

  • @jeremebonesaw I'm not too sure about how they sell it in your country but I saw it in a singular pack in Singapore :)

  • I'd probably go with the Flows for cold weather running. Don't you think it's a little cold for KSOs?

  • @KawazoeJapan He's wearing injiji socks, they're warm and have toes in them.

  • He can go anywhere with the KSO's, exept to his girlfriends house to tell her that he loves her. Right buddy?

  • those are really strange.... they're like outdoor toe socks!!

  • Amazing shoes, will buy them for cross country maybe even sooner. I dont care what my coach says about running shoes. Btw some pictures look as if he is standing on his hands hahaha.

  • these have got to be the best pair of shoes i've EVER bought :D

  • I ran 100km in Vibram Five Fingers that took under a day in a very cold, littered stone trails of Hong Kong. Live my experience by visiting my blog and video at joggerjoel(dot)com

  • I wonder how many bigfoot researchers have casts of this guys tracks on their shelves.

  • Are they waterproof??

  • two of my toes are webbed together, which has always been ok with me, but then the five fingers came out

    i feel left out

    :(

  • @wesbic my buddy had the same prob he split the toes in between cut out some material and used industrial strength thread and sewed it back together..he loves it

  • @toyoman88 Haha, wow when I first read what you were saying I thought you were telling me to perform surgery on myself. Yeah I never thought off modifying the shoes... I could probably get somebody who does alterations to do a bang-up job at it.

  • @wesbic you can order a costome pair

  • fuck!, there ugly

  • @ZAN871 they're*

  • @ZAN871 they're

  • @ZAN871 This is true... but they are for working out and running. If one is trying to make a fashion statement during either of those activities... there is most likely a need of some self evaluation.

  • how do they feel when they're wet? and in cold weather.

  • @theaterhobo

I love my VFFs and hate wearing socks with them (so I don't) The cold sucks so much with the KSOs. Your toes get raelly cold. But they do have VFFs for cold weather. Either way VFFs are better because they wont get all heavy in the rain or mudd like regular running shoes that would soak up the water and carry mud with them.

  • you arent supposed to wear them wit socks

  • @lemonlime301 i think he did that.cus it was snowing outside n didnt want his feet to freeze.

  • @Chris97yo omg i feel sooooo stupid i thought it was sand sorry :( fail

  • hey dude those might be fake...NAATTT!!! soo freeking tired of butt munches that are saying that about my vid......camera color doesn't = real life color you tards!!!

  • How "impenetrable" are the soles of the 5Fingers? I mean, like obviously an upright nail would penetrate it, but what about street debris (glass, sharp sticks, stones, thorns etc...)

  • @Pusfan a nail prob wouldnt penetrate it because if your running youll most likely kick over the nail instead of step on it.. its thick.. glass wouldnt go through it.

  • I just got my first pair of KSOs today!!

  • esto es una mierda timo

  • i want a pair of thoughs but like i looked at the aussie website and they're almost $200!!! what a rip off!! i gotta look on ebay :)

  • @Notster07 vibramfivefingers (dot) com is the original site. I just bought my KSOs from there for $85

  • @Notster07 there 67 dollars at

    fivefingershoestore (dot) com

  • they look like toe socks

  • i love mine wear them all the time gonna wear the to xc practice tomorrow they are so comfy

  • Not much of a review there mr. video guy.

  • Love my KSO's

  • I wear my kangaroo suede KSO Treks with Injinji socks to my white collar job in Hawaii and get plenty of "looks" from folks. I love them - the looks and the shoes. I wish I had also bought the regular KSOs for my fast walking because the "classics" have a definite design flaw with the tab back at the Achilles which wears a blister every time I wear them - in spite of fitting well. I WOULD NOT recommend the "classics."

  • Would be nice shoes if it wasn't for such poor quality - the seams on my Classics started to become loose and rip after 2 months of light use. And I'm not the only one with problems like this..Vibram has some serious quality control issues

  • You are not a happy camper, I notice you have posted comments on many vibram reviews. I have owned MBT's at usd 300. great shoes, i loveed them , but after 14 months thye are worn out and I needed 3-4 types( runners, business , sandals).

I no have stepf forward slicon inserts that are better and can be moved between shoes, great value

I also now have a pair of five fingers and I am getting used to them. i have small feet with a high instep and they were bit tight the frist time on instep

  • Yes, I feel people should know about their quality control issues. Some seem to be made exceptionally well and some, like mine, don't last 3 months.

Don't get me wrong, I love them, but it is annoying when they wear so quick. I get blisters as well, but I guess it's cause I'm used to sport shoes, all that nike air stuff.

I'm thinking maybe the new Bikila model has been improved? I'd like a pair of those, but not sure I'll be buying Classics or KSO again.

  • @mrrrxxxxx the fivefingers have about a 5% defect rate or thats what the store i got them said and the first ones i got broke in 2 weeks but the ones now i got lasted 4 months and counting and the soles have no wear at all and the only thing bad is i stepped in gum *sigh* but other then gum just slide them against concrete or asphalt and it cleans right off

  • had mine for just over a year and holding up perfect.

  • YOU CAN HAUL!

  • @AdrienMenielle they're called ininji socks

  • do the kso's cause any stone brusing or any blisters on the heels?

help would be greatly appreciated :]

  • i've got classics and sprints, surprisingly they don't rub at all even without socks. i assume stone bruising means underfoot, yes occasionally it hurts a little bit on stones, but you get used to paying attention to where you are going...just start carefully and see how you get on, phase them in over several weeks seeing how you feel as you go

  • pro foot gloves

  • Are you wearing socks with those ? What kind ?

  • You can only wear toe socks with vibram 5 fingers. Tabbi socks or regular socks will not work. Toe Socks can be picked up in a few select stores. Rumor has it that big box retail stores sell them seasonally (like Santa clause ones or Easter bunny ones.) But, your best bet (albeit an expensive one) would be to go online for them. I absolutely LOOOVE toe socks (and I'm a guy so they aren't just for girls.) They are comfy and cut down on foot perspiration.

  • I'll have to get me a pair of those they look really comfortable.

    Thanks for uploading

  • Thanks for the vid. Was just wondering if there was any wetness or water leaking in when you run through the snow or puddles? Or does it keep it all out?

  • I've got the exact same pair of KSOs, the sole has a razor cut pattern in them to keep them flexible, if you step on anything moist or hit water it will end up in the shoe. It's comparable to aqua socks. This doesn't detract from the shoe in my opinion though. It just means if you need them to be water tight another shoe is going to be better.

  • Thanks for replying.

Realised I didn't completely ask want I wanted to ahha.

I don't mind wetness, just thought there might be some rubbing or abrrasivness when the shoe's moving about when wet. Or is it really that good a fit most of the time that it doesn't move about?

Will be very grateful for another reply, there's just some things you can't tell when looking at a picture!

  • After you've worn them for a few weeks they start to fit better, and chaffing isn't much of a problem. It fits alot like a neoprene sock for diving, it's snug on the skin and doesn't move across it, and the material feels about the same when it's wet. The insole is a kind of rubber instead of fabric so it doesn't stay wet long. I haven't ended up with any sores in these as a result of water. A few blisters, but those would have come with regular shoes as well.

  • Thanks ever so much for your replies, I can buy these with more confidence now!

  • If it is a really shallow puddle then you are alright. However, the tops aren't waterproof and water does get it. I wore these during a cookout at a state park and walking around the twigs, branches, rocks, and dirt felt great! I could feel everything with me feet and was able to keep my balance very well. Only problem is when wearing them out at the store or whatnot, you get stares. But, if you don't mind looks then you could walk around virtually barefoot everywhere! Toe-socks are a must.

  • Cheers for the reply!

I was thinking I'd probably wear them as much as possible, I love bare foot, and I won't mind the stares.

I mean I found out about them seeing someone wearing in a super market so if I can spread the word myself that way too then I'll be doing a good deed!

Plus, if anyone gives me beef for wearing them I'll be able to run away at barefoot speed.

Think I'll get these come pay day.

  • @AscottW I just dont care what others say when i where my five fingers. Really a lot of the world have switched off their minds anyway. My 12 year old son thinks theye look a bit sspastic.

  • are the soles durable?

comparable to an ascics or a nike sole?

  • They are actually better. Vibram makes soles for high end hiking boots.

  • These are great! I have a pair of KSO's and 3 pair of Classics and chucked out all my conventional shoes months ago. I could never put on those horrible, constricting, body-wrecking things again.

Completely worked my abs and legs when I first got them. I feel that they're still doing that and contributing to my health in many other subtle ways through alignment and posture.

  • I LOVE THESE SHOES I USE THEM IN EVERY SPORT I PLAY (exept football)

  • i thought they would work in football, but yeh i dont recomend them for football lol

  • Are they used for rock climbing.

  • Yes :)

  • I'm getting these!!

  • It's cool n good for ur feet, u morons.

  • how much were those socks?

  • this looks like a joke

  • i hav a pair of clasics...should i get some injinjis

  • @coolrats27 not necessary, tho with the classics it might help to have a tighter fit

i tried em out with the KSOs and like it more without the socks

  • I love these shoes, but 32s-35s looks like early stages of frost bite :o)

  • Very nice! I can't wait to get my pair, I was wondering if getting a pair of nice injinjis would allow for some longer training in the Fall, Winter, and Spring here in the Northeast US, obviously barefoot is where it is at, but the KSOs look great for trails and rugged roads!

  • I got mine today at hills sport shop

  • Love my Vibram KSO's

  • WHy wear socks with them? Just for the cold?

  • yup

  • look like monkey lol

  • Monkey like a fox.

  • If you're not used to working or running barefoot, the Vibram can be a big adjustment. Don't start too fast using them or else you risk plantar fascitis. Also if you're used to a higer heel, you going to stretch your achilles tendon some. Work into it and you'll be fine. Vibrams will support you fairly well, but its really like barefoot almost. Watch out for large gravel, knobby roots and things like that when you start. Also be careful about heel strike. These are not padded.

  • okay so i have a few questions.. im a highschool track/ cross country runner.. so i run alot. my long run days are about 8-12 miles and i do track workouts and all that jazz.. but yeah what are they good for? i guess im asking can i run in them for long distance and will i have suport? and if i run on trails will rocks hurt and whatnot? i mean im sure they would be great for a lfat track workout surface type stuff.. but yeah im thinking about getting them so let me know please.

  • You can do and go anywhere you want. They're great for running! The KSO model is great for everything. GET THEM!!

  • just got back from a 10 mi run in them today. love em!

  • i stick to grass/gravel/hiking trails. ive been using them recreationally for about a year and a half but i still find pavement/track to be tough on the feet (at least while running, walking they're fine)

  • max1ello, try to stay light on your feet when you run over small rocks and there won't be any problems. Agility will help you to avoid injury

  • Those are Al Bundy's God Shoes. Thieves!!!!!!

  • Are these shoes good for working out, too? Like for squats and deadlifts. Because some powerlifters like to squat and deadlift in socks. I'm thinking about getting me a pair [of the shoes].

  • ive seen a few people work out in them, if your going to dead lift id say they would be beneficial by keeping you lower to the ground.. as for squats get something with a raised sole/heel and flatter toe, making it less travel distance to squat and easier to keep on your heel for the way down. just a few tips.

  • OK. Well, I squat in some flat-soled wrestling shoes and they work fine. So, I'm sure the FiveFingers will work fine, or better. Right?

  • im sure they would be, but honestly for squats, wear raised heel shoes like bowling shoes. when your on the way down its easier to keep your heel planted and cuts off 1-2 inches off your downward travel making it easier to plant your heels and do heavier weight, the small sole shoes are more for deadlifting.

  • Why don't you just squat and deadlift barefoot? If your lacking rom just elevate your heels on a block, 5 fingers aren't worth it just for lifting.

  • You're better off with flat soles for squatting - if you can't keep your heels down you need more flexibility in the ankles, not more padding under your heels. I work out either barefoot or in VFFs and have no trouble keeping my heels down during full-range (below parallel) squats.

  • are they confortable???

  • i got some to day in black !

  • KSO's RULE!!!!

  • you got tiny feet

  • I have had my KSO's for a while now. I have been running with them (I still run pure barefoot twice a week). And also did some bouldering in them. I also hike here in the swampy lands of Florida with them, while carrying 25-50 lbs of gear. All purpose shoes once you develop the strength in your legs and feet. Vibram Fivefingers are the only shoes you need for anything. They hold up real well it is amazing. Pair them with injinji socks and they are unstoppable. FUN stuff :).

  • I bought a pair of KSO's last week. I have had the Classics in a size M47 for over a year, and found them too small. As you know, that is the biggest size Vibram makes these shoes in. The KSO variety fit perfectly...even with Injinji Toe socks!!

  • hey i have these kso and i wanted to know are you feet wet on the bottom, mine feet always feel wet as soon as i step in wet grass or if the side walk is a bit wet i would of thought the rubber bottom wouldnt let my bottom of my feet get wet.

  • Maybe it's that you're feeling the coldness of the water underneath

  • just got my first pair of KSO's today and I can hardly take them off my feet. I plan on wearing them for my track meet on tuesday and then at districts! best thing ive ever bought hands down.

  • Just bought a pair and am loving them! You have inspired me to make a movie about mine also!

  • I got a pair of the sprint... I hate them. I love the look of the black KSO's. I might pick up a pair.

  • I was actually planning on getting the "FLO" variety. Like the KSOs they cover the whole foot and would do a great job of keeping stuff out, but they're more insulated and specifically designed for colder temperatures.

It's great to see FiveFingers in action! Thanks for posting this. I can't wait until I save up enough money...

  • Hey Laurie, This is Harrison from APK. Once you get your Vibram's could you post a review on APK?? Thanks =]

  • KSO means Keep Stuff Out

  • Whaat does KSO stand for? Im getting my sprints this week, colour white one:P Im so looking forward to getting them. :D

  • i could so style those in some jeans.

  • huh...i have the sprints....never tried the KSO (actually i don't even see em on the vibram page)...i assume it means something to the extent of keep stuff out

  • Awesome stuff man. I am getting my KSOs this week. I plan to do a marathon in them, hike in them every week, and all kinds of stuff.
