pretty good sound here, I have a 98 expedition with the 4.6 with dual glass packs and im happy with the sound, the neighbors arent. The first two years of the expeditions (97 and 98) the 4.6 although 15 less HP was the better engine. In the 99 models, the 5.4 went on top between the two. ( documented directly from ford)
@fordwindsor351 Thanks! Glasspacks are ok, a couple of times I've gone just straight pipe from the cats back, and it sounded monsterish. I had a 98 f-150 with the 4.6 ltr in it and everytime i got on the freeway it would max out at about 60 mph, i don't really know why. I enjoyed it though, I had a 3" 10 series flowmaster setup on that truck it was awesome!
@JRLightning is this your current vehicle, the expedition?, just wondering because on mine, I having a hard time locating just the rear window hinges, all they will sell is the whole unit. (glass and all)
Cherrybomb mufflers are just as good as the other brands out there. And I don't know what Domman56 is talking about. Maybe he needs to check out speed channel when stacy david on his show "Gearz" talked about how good these mufflers are,lol!
you don't get to hear the cherrybomb sound propper sweet until you take you foot of the gas for corners, thats when it crackles and pops away nicley ;)
Well it depends, are you looking for big sound? if sound doesn't matter then probably going with a magnaflow would give you a nice sound, but if you want the big sound go with a chambered muffler like a flowmaster 10 series, or a cherrybomb extreme. I had a 10 series flowmaster on my old 98 f-150 with a 4.6 V-8 it was a 3" single inlet and 3" single outlet, It sounded awesome!!! I would go with a dual exhaust system using any of the mufflers i mentioned.
I have had 3 different flowmaster mufflers on this vehicle they were not as loud as this is now. Besides I just started it, it was'nt warmed up so it's pretty quiet, that is until it's warmed up then it's really loud. I have a little digital camera so it does'nt do the sound justice.
