This is the first movie from Anto Corbein A dutch guy who started out as a photografer and i must say its a class on its own. Very good on its own way . I heard of the joy division before but the movie really got me into them. I love to see his new movie with goerge cloony. I KNOW MY gf would love it!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this track!! As a teenager in the late 70s, I'm ashamed to admit that the only Joy Division song I ever paid attention to/knew of was "Love Will Tear Us Apart"! Whilst there's absolutely nothing wrong in that, but to think all these years ago and I hadn't gone out of my way to listen to their other stuff! I'm going out to buy the Best Of CD tomorrow:) Can't Wait!!PS: I wish Sam Riley et al could've made a whole tribute album to JD! They're only featured once on Control!

I liked the film a lot, especially because it reflects the real feelings of people during the 70/80. There was a huge change between being "in" and "out" of society. Joy Division was a pioneer (such as were the Sex Pistols with Anarchy in the UK). My parents did not allow me to buy the LP's of them (I did it anyway). Greetings to ya all

Yup he did. It doesn't quite reach the harrowing, monotous style of Curtis but it certainly has it's own eccentric charm. Overall, the perfomance completely embodies the idea and legend behind Curtis, more so than I think any biopic has ever been able to achieve.

I think the epilepsy that was starting to take over had more to do with it. He began to have more and more seizures during shows. I also think the girl that came to his business was always in the back of his mind because she ended of dying from on epileptic seizure at a young age.

Sure....the relationships had a lot to do with it, but I think he was just tired of dealing with his condition. In the late 70's/early 80's, epilepsy was still very misdiagnosed and misunderstood.

I think it is worth pointing out that his condition and its bad medication were not the only problems he had by the end. He was struggling to come to grips with the pressures of newfound fame, had had an affair and was trying to keep his marriage together, and by all account had actually made up his mind to leave the band. A friend of his once said his songs were actually terrible because "he really meant all of it"

I don't think it's fair to blame it on Debbie Curtis. I doubt she forced him at gunpoint into marriage. I think it's safe to say that the mental illness, epilepsy, and depression also played a part in the way things went down.

Yeah, this scene shows Ian in a very bad light. I mean Ian was hardly a very good person to Debbie and you see that completley in the film.

what's bad is I watched this movie probably 10 times before i went out and picked up any of the stuff. And I listened to this song and didnt really care for it just because it is a little different, A little slower, Ian's voice is much deeper. I've grown to love it but my wife still seems to like the guys doing from the movie a little better.
