This video is really nice. It clearly shows how men and women should have equal opportunity in life. also, they should also be given equal treatment for the things that they do. If they are doing the same task, they should also be given the same reward or price.

If a woman and a man both put in an equal effort with identical duties in, say a bricklaying job, yet the woman only gets half the work done, does she deserve to get paid the same amount? Did she deserve the job in the first place? I suppose this is a bit of a problem from an employer's perspective with discrimination laws. I've never seen a woman get paid less than a man when they both produce the same output, this gender inequality thing seems to just be feminist propaganda.

Personally I have always prefered the idea of equality being one of oportunites rather than outcomes. So long as everyone runs the same race under the same conditions it does not matter who wins. If 80% of firemen are men and 90% of nurses are women then thats fine, so long as everyone was treated as an equal aplicant for the job and chosen on mertit.

Do women truly want to be treated equal with men? Personally, I think the goal of fairness is fair better than equality. Women-only health clubs are not about gender equality (obviously!), and there are plenty of them around. More public bathrooms for women than men is a good idea, but certainly not equal. And when a married couple hear a strange sound downstairs at night, is there an equal change the women will investigate? I doubt it!

It's true. Women have 4 times the attention span of a man and are less likely to make verbal mistakes during arguments. Men are on average twice as strong and I believe over 70% more likely to surpass women in math and science. It is not a bad thing, its just biological facts that should be embraced so we can balance out men and women in the work force so we can optimize the world.

I think this video makes light of what is a deadly serious problem. It's not flowers and applause we're talking about here, it's wages, which we need to actually LIVE on. Would be better to show her being allowed less food, a smaller house etc, these are the real results of unequal pay. Also, it suggests that the way to get equal pay is to sit on the steps and cry! In reality employers know what they're doing - only brave people speaking out and standing up for equality will change things.

I think the point of the animation is just that equal treatment is often incredibly easy and entirely reasonable and requires only a moment's thought to figure it out.

If we've done something wrong for a million years . . . that doesn't necessarily mean that it will take any effort whatsoever to start doing it right today.

The same is true for decent treatment of people whose skin color is slightly different, or religious beliefs.
