hey m8, for the muting, the easiest way is to use a 'baseball bat' grip and wrap ur thumb over the low e string, then you should find that your index finger should naturally mute the g string, if not just lie it down a bit over the string. and you dont need to worry about the high e and b strings unless u take giant strums at the guitar ;)
