Many GIs who fought in Vietnam developed an anti-war stance because of their experiences. Therefore, this song's lyrics are extremely legitimate. Outstanding video. I think everyone is missing the point that the rap song is from the perspective of a GI (even though the rapper is obviously not one). Many GIs who fought in Vietnam developed an anti-war stance because of their experiences. Therefore, this song's lyrics are extremely legitimate. I know many Vietnam Vets who feel the same way as this rapper's story implies.

In the 70's people were afraid of Communism and took it out of hand. China and North Korea are both communist today. Do you see us trying to stop them? No we realized they are not a threat. In Vietnam the soldiers were among the civilians therefore they were killed in the cross-fire. He is also blaming the president not the soldiers.

War is war, US should have been able to cross borders to fight the VC and disrupt the ho chi minh trail. My family are from south VN. My father fought against the north and was sent to a re-education camp to do hard labor. The wealth my family built (from the ground up, not inherited) was confiscated by the communist government. They were forced to live in refugee camps in indonesia for several years before being allowed asylum in the united states. You disregard what communists have done to their own people. I think you should do research on the negatives before telling me how great communism is.
