I was at the game, ran on to celebrate and got a suprise, Southampton were well game and came right at us. Probably had the upper hand too. I also remember old bill were very heavy handed, took a crack on the back of the head.
Everton may have been good, but let's remember who finished 2nd in the League that season?... SOUTHAMPTON! - only 3 points off Liverpool in 1st. I was at the Semi Final and it was the Everton fans that came onto the pitch and celebrating and then went up the pitch towards the Clock end, where there were @ 25, 000 Southampton supporters. Kids were crying where I was stood!
scumampton were never a threat in the 80`s.......they had a miniture result outside a pub when we played them at there place a few years back........but the police & camaras played a massive part in the remaining few Pompey lads (not old skool) getting caught
shame u missed the start,i was 1st on the pitch,i was 12 then,Andy Gray and John Bailey were havin a right go at me,I told em 2 fuck off im Arsenal, this is my fuckin pitch,i used to run on at the end of every home game, was gettin ready for the final whistle of ET then "Inchy" scored so i ran on anyway.ha ha,the good old days!!!
in reply to mr country coast bumpkin from sfc i think the lad is talking about the game if you want to talk about firms everton one of the top in 80s im sure real hools will agree apart from that ruck did you do anything else get back in your barn wannabe efc on this day
everton ran on pitch celibrating ,southamton ran on to have a go,police got in between end of , everton in shock at the gall of southamton ,the coppers saved you from a beating
The match is the 1984 FA Cup Semi Final between Everton and Southampton at Highbury. Everton won 1-0. The trouble started when the Evertonians invaded the pitch to celebrate reaching the FA Cup Final.
