righty the rank of the bloke is Major sins the rank of major is needed to comand a regiment... (infantry formation) at the given time, it is as far as I know also a regiment of horses but a artillery batery

I think there's a key that goes into the soldiers perspective. Look up Empire Total War from a soldiers view or something like that. It's not delete though, it like, goesw into 1st person. Pretty cool from what I saw ;)

Havildar, Jemadar and Subedar, were the Ghurkhas officers. Each respectively held a higher rank than others. Although interestingly, no matter how high. Would always be subordinate to any impirial officer. Typical lol. Anyway I hope ive managed to help you with my comment dude.

Hey, i believe that if you press TAB you can see from soldiers perspective, that includes musket fire, cannon fire. See the path of the projectile. If you didnt know that by now already orr whatever.. :)

the rank would depend on what each unit represents... a company? a Regiment?

yeah imsure its regiment now because in campaign they are named and it would be like "15th regiment of foot" or something like that

well there the regimental officer would be Coronal but you'd also have at least a Major and a number of capitals in charge of how ever many companies the regiment would have, and you only have the one designate line officer there. Game's not so detail is it heh

no this is early lol. There are no socket bayonets, gurrahs (sp?) are only in early, and you are using artillery fire from early (that fire stuff.)

They would be line infantry regiments with colonels, light infantry companies with captains, cavalry squadrons with captains.

Generally they would collectively be known as: 'Fusiliers' or 'Batteries'.

With officers called what I would assume to be: Brigadiers, or more likely Lieutenants.

no ranked just can change your skill rating and gives you more stars, everyone has acess to the same units, unless you buy the expansion pack thing, which has more or if you pre-order it
