  • can anybody tell me which engine bolts up to a 58 edsel?

  • @JohnnyDesaint Which engine did it come with? Edsels were available with 3 different engine families, if I'm not mistaken.

  • @RulerOfEverything it came with the 361 FE

  • Still photo W/Chevy sound !!

  • @Bootlrggerjim Bravo, you spotted a still photo. But you're an idiot. The sound is from the exact y-block pictured, recorded from behind the truck. Find me one Chevy that sounds like this and I'll buy it, sight unseen.

  • @Bootlrggerjim Chevy???????? No V8 engine sounds like an Y, and that's an Y. The only one that can compete with an Y is a Flathead Ford V8, but even tough, it's not so nice than the Y.

  • @lovefordgalaxie ........really who cares.......Ys are good old motors, and they do have there own sound!!!

  • Are you using a Flowmaster or Magnaflow, or something? its the coolest song ever ;/

    5/5

  • @LuanDUB Cherry Bombs! Cheaper than Flowmaster and they sound a LOT better. Spread the word.

  • could of ben a chevy

  • it is not running stupid

  • great sound

  • lol i was gonna say wow thats a smooth idling old engine...then i realized it was just a still photo

  • Ha ha me2.... But sounds GREAT!!

  • Where did you find the ram hornes???? VERY RARE!!

  • The rams-horn manifold is on the left side only--- the right side manifold is stock, with the front inlet blocked. I paid $40 for the rams-horn on eBay.

  • nice doode

  • Amazing sound! classic! Tell me is that a full stock engine? What's the intake setup? Something on the cylinder heads, pistons, rods or crankshaft? What a sweet engine...

    Thanks!

  • The engine is all stock internally .... bored .040 over with regular pistons. The block is a '57 (ECZ 6015 C) and the heads are '56 (ECZ-C, 1.78" intake). Stock cam, '58 specs. The intake is a '57 style four-barrel (late Holley pattern). Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor (500 cfm). The exhaust is a custom dual setup using the factory right-side manifold and a ram's-horn manifold on the left side.

  • gil

  • very nice engine, looks and sounds awesome

  • sweet sound. i like the air cleaner cover

  • WOW! Just amazing Old Y my man sounds like a dream!

  • damn dude i think im gonna have to steal your hole exhaust set up haha, this sound is exactly what i want out of my 292. i like you have one side ram horn and the other isnt haha... and i guess its louder if its two straight pipes huh? i woulda thought the h or x pipe would make it loud but nope, this is perfect

  • Looks and sounds nice! Great to finnaly see it.

  • you are so lucky you have yours up and running, sounds SICK dude. what kind of exhaust are you running?

  • Thanks for the comment ... I love the sound too, it's nice & refined from inside. A lot quieter, but has a nice rumble.

I'm running cast iron manifolds (rams horn on the left side) into 1 7/8" straight duals. No H-pipe, no X-pipe. 18" Cherry Bombs mounted all the way forward, and then tailpipes all the way over the axle and out under the bumper.

  • Thanks a lot for the info. Great setup!
