thought provoking, heart warming, and interesting video. I like your title - crops from stones.. thats incredible the work that was done. as Bruce Cockburn said to the men here, they should be proud :) thank-you for posting this.
Many of Bruce Cockburn's songs are somber and thought provoking and the execution on the guitar is astonishing. We need more of this. Storytellers. Simple pleasures we have long cast aside for smart phones and instant gratification and not to mention, pimple removal commercials.
We don't need governments that LEGISLATE sharing. We need to dig deeper and incorporate it into our individual lives lives and share on a personal level. Human being to human being with empathy and kindness. It's an unfolding of truth, that when it gradually unfolds in front of your eyes... you will see. Allan Watts, as depressing, and gloom and doom as it may seem only want's to open your eyes to your artificial reality. Cutting Through the Matrix.
Having spent 3 mos in Nepal you see this way of life is totally accepted and there is little sense they feel it is a struggle - hard work, yes, but a struggle? I never got that feeling from them. They love and accept life as it is. They are not beyond taking in new ways to make the way they live a little easier, but they are not looking for a "couch potato" way of living - for that wouldn't be living at all!
And living is what they love most, and it shows! Namaste!
Thanks for posting this. And thanks Bruce for letting us know about a real struggle for exisitence. The Nepalese have less time for being critical and unkind than we Westerners.
these are very normal things in villages of nepal and since i am from one of those kind i feel like we were not praised for what we have done with our 2 hands. publicity shows our works better so thanks to bruce
Bruce Cockburn is not a poverty tourist. He is a libertarian and a person I hold in high esteem. Not to mention an inspiring guitar player. He is using his success for good things and of that I can never be critical. He is about sharing. What the fuck is wrong with that?
