@bakerbeaver First off, the point of this video was to show how well they handle. These cars are BEAST, and move like a much smaller car.

Second off, they weigh 2 1/2 ton, and are 17ft long. They're not to big on the whole 'coming off the ground and flipping' thing. You really don't need to worry about that.

If someone would sit into my car and do the same things like in the video I'd kick his ass for sure. You cannot use a car like that just because 'it can take it' if you really like your car.

@Kelsie154 No the S600 and 600SEL is the same car. The names changed in 94, all SEL or SE became S-(number here). In 91-93 was 600SEL and was changed as S600 94-99.The SEL stand for Long wheel base, the SE stands for short wheel base-car is shorted.The 600 stands for 6.0 motor has the v12, S500 or 500SEL means 5.0 motor with V8. also there is an S420 with 4.2L V8, and S320 with 3.2L Inline 6 motor. In 91-93 there was 300SEL and 400SEL. Also a diesel motor 3.5l Turbo.

@Arlind86 Actually, if you look at the two side by side you can see that they are actually a bit different.

I own an S500, and a 500SEL. They look different, even though they are basically the same car.

On the S, the deck lid has rounded corners around the tail lights, where the SEL has pointed corners.

The S model(600) has 12 lines on the grill, where the SEL had 6.

The reflector strip on the S is pink, & the SEL is clear.

The headlights are also different, though not in shape.

@Kelsie154 Yes Kelsie, it's called a facelift. There were three facelifts on the w140. the 91-93 was the first production, The bumpers were different. the trunk lid had corners with sharp ages. Also the buttom white tailight was one piece. In 94 the interior changed a bit, you didn't have the armstands on the side of the door where they could prop open. In 94 was the Mid-facelift like in every mercedes model. Tailights upfront were clear. 96 had new trans,In 97 they tails were clear as well.

Me personally? I like the 6 better than the 12... so if I bought a later model of the 140, I'd change it to the earlier grill.

@Kelsie154 all 600's have 12 grill known as the avantagarde grill..and yes there is the chance this guy might have changed the grill to a non 600, but this car is not a 600.I can tell a mile away. Look at the inside of the car when he's driving his, rearview mirror is not even electric, and it has the clip to dim the rearview mirror for night driving. S600s and S500s don't have the clip under the rearview mirrors.. comes standard with autodim...This car is a basic S320 if not an S350 diesel

@Arlind86 can't really comment on the electric internal mirror, but this car at least has the 4.2 litre V8. If you listen to the engine when kickdown was used, you distinctly hear 2 engine notes, though very close, like a fraction of a second apart. This is characteristic of V type engines as each bank of cylinders creates its own note/ pulse. Since we know with this model there were no V engines apart from the 420,500 & 600, it means it's one of these. The straight 6 in a S320 has only 1 pulse

@damieg82 I can hardly hear the engine noise ...to me sounds like a honda civic on crack...My S500 doesn't sound like that but looking at the transmission shifter, it looks like it has a 722.370 trans with a B,2,D,R,P which is a 4 speed auto given only on the 91-95 S420s,S500 and S600's...the s320 had a 5 speed auto 722.6 and shifter tracks are different.

@Arlind86 you're right. And another thing I noticed is the tachometer. Only the V8's and V12 have a tach going to 7000 rpms with redline starting at 6000, as seen in this car. So this is definitely at the very least a V8, if not a V12 as suggested.

All I can say about the mirror is that in Europe, these cars had innumerable options. Its only in the export markets that standard trim/equipment packages were created since obviously adding extras was not feasible with the factory being overseas
