Current 93 was/ is hundred times better than Nick cave (and the bad seeds). but they don't have so good marketing and of course glamour like Nick Cave or Blixa Bargeld

I appreciate C93 to a point, but I can't fathom why they have such a fawning, passionate audience. I'm glad they do, I just don't get what the hype is. David seems to approach each song with the exact same vocal delivery (not singing), and it usually sounds like he's REALLY over emphasizing things. The music is pretty repetitive and seems to vary only slightly in each song. I respectfully ask for someone to explain why they're so in to C93. Thanks.

The song was created by a black woman who had to look after her master's child, while her own child died from neglect. She would sing this to the masters white child. It is right that it has such a sad sound to it really. The little lamb crying for its mommy is obviously her own dead/dying child. The original had the lyric "birds and butterflies, peck at his eyes", but it had to be changed to the less violent version...for the kids and all.

this actually is the original song from the Current 93 album "All The Pretty Little Horses". The opening track is the same song with the words whispered by David Tibet, and Nick Cave sings the reprise at the end of the album.

Nick cave is my favorate singer/songwriter of the last 25 years. However, I really prefer David Tibet's voice for this song. Much creepier. If cave danger is psychotic, Tibet's is nuerotic, and this song suits that approach more I feel.
