UK.gov take note, measuring a population’s happiness is not only infantile by definition but also flawed logically in terms of the act of studying a subject affecting its state. Happy? Who cares, emotions to me are like colours to a person sees in black and white. I know they exist and can define them in many ways but choose how to apply them as a means to an end rather than allow them as most people describe to be a reason for thoughts and actions.
I think that maybe happiness should be our goal (I don't know if others consider content and happy to be basically the same). I don't think that focusing on this will hinder our progress as a race. So I believe that in persuing happiness one persues a better world. So happiness can be both a means and an end.

UK.gov take note, measuring a population’s happiness is not only infantile by definition but also flawed logically in terms of the act of studying a subject affecting its state. Happy? Who cares, emotions to me are like colours to a person sees in black and white. I know they exist and can define them in many ways but choose how to apply them as a means to an end rather than allow them as most people describe to be a reason for thoughts and actions.

I think that maybe happiness should be our goal (I don't know if others consider content and happy to be basically the same). I don't think that focusing on this will hinder our progress as a race. We consider violence to be bad because it makes people unhappy, so when trying to obtain happiness one tries to rid their life, and consequentely the world, of bad things like violence. So I believe that in persuing happiness one persues a better world. So happiness can be both a means and an end.
