They used Auto-tune in Origin and Fallen but not on The Open Door. I can't wait to hear her voice on the Third Album since it seems to have improve a little :)
@DonOmar06 It's not they used auto-tune (because let's face it, the music industry won't let you make an album without cleaning up the little messups nowadays) as much as they added enough effects to make her voice sound different.
I suppose demos are done very unprofessionally, this was probably recorded in one of their houses years ago, when they didn't have a lot of recording experience or good studio equipment. Amy's voice isn't compressed or EQ'd as well as in the studio albums, obviously, but there's absolutely no evidence of autotune being used for pitch correction, autotune is being widely used for vocal effects now. Effects on Amy's voice can be achieved with EQ and compression alone, acoustic performances are ace

The vocals here are raw, not like the Fallen autotuned ones, I think it makes the song better and Lee more credible as a vocalist. As all, she has her limitations and the severe autotune in the albums make her seem too perfect, completely disappointing live.
@arturesteve Idon't think Amy uses autotune. I think she only synthesizes her voice to make it sound more electronic and clear, as heard at the beginning of this song on the album. But you can tell if this was synthesized, it would sound similar to the one on Fallen. Second, Dave Fortman:the producer for both of their albums,confirmed that Amy doesn't use auto-tune...at least not on the The Open Door. Even if she uses auto-tune, it's definitely not for pitch problems. Look at her acoustic shows.

@deaathbutterfly nope now she has found other band memebers. her and terry are the only remains of the old Evanescnece but the new album is coming out this october.
