  • @nicolasmauser another and the last note: was a part of the song that looked like;fun fun fun of the beach boys exactly when they say "fun, fun, fun".

    Thanks again.

  • I;m 13. This is what I listen to in private.

  • @iNeverBreak Haha, I'm 12 and I do the same :)

  • and look at the crap we have in the charts nowadays...back then music had heart, now all it has it autotune.

  • Damn, I was born in the wrong decade.

  • the diamonds did not make why do fools fall in love...frankie lymon and the teenagers

  • Jesus, guys. Don't turn this into a racial debate. In my opinion, you guys must have a serious problem of self-esteem if you could draw such prejudicial and aggressive conclusion by watching this slideshow.

Maybe the person who made this personally prefer the "white versions" (god, this sounds so nazi) over the originals. I'm sure you, too, must have some preference over certain originals. Chill out and enjoy one of the most delicious song-styles ever made.

  • By presenting white artists first in this video, it is assumed by those watching that Doo Wop was started by white America. Not true. Also, I must assume you are a racist or either ignorant to the genre of doo wop because the black versions of certain songs were far better than the white versions you used. Again, why does everyone want always want our music, including racists?

    So Proud To Be Black!

  • Whoever made this video was prejudiced. Those white guys, try as they might are poor representatives of doo wop. Their voices just cannot cut it. That was a music created on the street corners. We had no venues, no clubs, no studios, no money. We were poor, in love and expressed our feelings with what we had, those beautiful, unmatched, golden voices and creativity. Why does everyone want black folks music? And I mean everyone!!!

  • Black people have created practically every music genre in America. When our great songs are documented as being made by other people (who cannot do them justice) we are angered. Nobody could sing Sh-Boom like the Chords. or "Why Do Fools Fall In Love like Frankie Lymon. (Listen to those songs). Why didn't you show those great artists singing those huge 'hits?' You want to present yourselves doing our jazz, our rhythm and blues, our soul, our doo wop, our rock(rock n' roll), our rap. Please!

  • Doo Wop started with black gospel street harmony groups that evolved into that sound. It was a music created by black people. The problem is that too often blacks are not given the credit their creations. This video shows white groups singing our songs, songs that were written and recorded by black artists first. Frankie Lymon, a black boy wrote and sang 'Why Do Fools Fall In Love.' We also sang a lot of those other songs first. Why didn't you show the original black artists of those songs???

  • I´m 21 and I love this kind of songs!

  • Harmonics before autotune... nice.

  • Perfect songs

  • for those of you that dont know this is called music!

  • Oh My God you dont have The Chords Sh Boom?? Thisclip would have been better if the songs were from black doo wop groups because the white version is too square...Just my opinion!

  • Lol i love this kind of music! I do think the industry is trying to revive this kind of doo-wop music. Olly Murs' music is very much of the Doo-Wop persuasion and Bruno Mar's has an album called 'Doo-wops and hooligans'. I think everyone likes this stuff if they listen to it. how could you not? :p

  • walked by a group of goodfellas singing doo-wop outside Penn station in August, It was the first time I had ever set foot in NYC, and that was something Ill never forget

  • @NordicSoul13 lol!

  • these songs used to be played on my grandparents old wind up record player.

  • i think young people actually like this music, but society and its fashion rules have ovr loaded the brain of teenagers with so much garbage and stereotypes they cannot apreciate the beauty and artistic power of all this songs, and few will want to clean that shit. Fucking humans, they themselve destroy their own marvelous works!

  • what is this? talented musicians? i havent seen those in years! Great music!

  • Thank you for this resource! I know you had only 10 minutes just miss seeing the Silhouettes. They were the first group to go #1 on R&B and Pop charts!

  • I'm only 85, and I listen to this.

  • Music depends how the socity is. Now everything is crap including the music

  • lol apparently almost all doo wop band names start with "the". i enjoyed the music. im trying to find some music like this with a really good bass line. any suggestions?

  • No Frankie Lymon didnt write "why do fools fall in love" the Diamonds originaly wrote it but when Frankie Lymon or his brother re-did the song it was a bigger hit.

  • @trentman1211

Yes Frankie and the Teenagers wrote the song. The Diamonds were just a cover version and after Frankie parted with the teenagers he sang it with his brother!

  • @trentman1211 Wrong , the diamonds did not write the song

  • Frankie Lymon

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Frankie Lyon make "why do fools fall in love?"

  • You are correct Doggie. He did write it although old George Goldner, who owned the label, always put his name as writer credit also to steal a few shekels. I believe the two remaining Teenagers won a court battle years ago for other theft.

  • I was born in the wrong era, love this music.

  • It's a shame you didn't put The Ink Spot in your playlist !

  • wow Doo Wop... why did u leave? :(

  • Kinda bummed Dion isn't in here with "I wonder why"

  • Fantastic...

  • lol,it sounds like the earls are singing 'youtube' good tunes btw

  • 66 people were fools that fell in love.

  • love this type of music was such great years as a teenager, the love and your first girlfriend, dances, just plain great times,we need them back for our young people. to know that they are loved and so they won't commit suicide todays music is just so out in left field. not a good influance on them.

  • I have ADD I can't listen to a song for more than 20 seconds. Why does this exist?

  • showed this for my mother and fater. Old folks. Thay LOVED it :-) THANKS

  • it.. express yourself through music and shut the fuck up!!

  • So many here hating on either this or "horrible rap crap". Music is expression. If you wanna express how much money you have then do that, if your in love, please make a song.. happy, sad etc.. Fuck complaining, and listen to what makes you feel good. "what has society come to"?? what the fuck are you talking about?! ignorance is bliss apparently.. what do you think some people said about this 60 years ago? im most likely going to make hiphop, dub and house mixes of half of these.hate it or love

  • "I wonder why I love you like I do, is it because I think you love me too,"

  • Its also sad that the last day of school I stood annoyed for over an hour at the party, annoyed do to the music they were playing. Would it kill them to play one of these songs?

  • Its so sad that I go to school with Earth Angel (or anything similar) in my head, then the other kids play some terrible rap crap ,and I leave with that horrible excuse for music in my ears -_____-. What has society come to?

  • Just goes to the changes in music from decade to decade. Wonder what will be said about music of today 50 years from now.

  • @aznative1011 Imagine little kid saying to they parents: Daddy! who the hell are Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga??

  • @aznative1011 Probably something along the lines of who listened to that garbage. Rap, Hip hop and all this other talentless music will fade. The oldies will stand the test of time.

  • this is a fantastic compilation... thank you so much !

  • "WHY DO BIRDS SING SO GAY?"

  • @cameron829sm lolz happy

  • Thanks!!! this gave a clear Idea of what Doo-wop sounds like... I have a Music History test tomorrow lol

  • Listen to that ....Frankie Lymon ......pure class ...beautiful vioce...only 14..

  • And why Don't you have the Chordettes; that is the only thing missing, everything else is fine though.

  • And why is race becoming an issue here? Honestly? This is AMERICAN music. Our culture is what makes us unique. We should be saying "Fuck the Brits" instead of "Fuck the white people" or "Fuck the black people"

  • @thatkid1011 unique and stupid

  • @gikonyi That's why everyone always copies us right?

  • @thatkid1011 Sweeeeeeeet!

  • i love how all the bands from the 50's and 60's have "The" at the beginning or in the middlde of the names great music though

  • @tommyprks Its actually pretty funny, most of the companies wouldn't give them a gig or a show if their name wasn't "DooWop Enough XD

  • @tommyprks Its actually pretty funny, most of the companies wouldn't give them a gig or a show if their name wasn't "DooWop Enough XD

  • You put together a great mix, and you include lesser known groups like The Rainbows and Norman Fox and Rob Roys. I notice The Rob Roys and The Marcels were mixed black and white groups!

  • @mannixisle That caught my attention too. I was a bit shocked because that was a rare thing back in these days.

  • Was Louis Lymon (with the Teenchords) Frankie's brother? He looks and sounds like him here in Honey Honey.

  • @mannixisle Yes he was.

  • @mannixisle Yes, he was.
