Why would they create it as weapon? It's not like you catch it through the air like a common cold. A person's lifestyle plays a large role in how they got AIDS. Those that practice homosexuality, promiscuous heterosexual sex, shoot up drugs with used needles, or have unprotected sex with prostitutes. These are the primary ways people get AIDS. It's not like people dont have control over their lifestyle.

Not smallpox, the Hep B vaccine is far more likely. In 1978 and 1979 there were mass vaccinations in Africa, across Europe, and in the US that targeted those most at risk, here the gay community and drug addicts. The first test used to diagnose AIDS was the Hep B test since in >85% cases the patients with HIV tested positive for Hep B as well.
