Perfect example of chossing the wrong car for the wrong race. Vipers were meant for overall racing. a GNX will shit on a Viper anyday but most ppl think racingis all about the quarter mile. Put those same cars in a lap race and watch that Viper do laps on the buick.
Sorry but the guy in the viper cant drive. Stock for stock a viper would smoke a GN in the quarter and top end. "Stone stock" Viper is a mid to high 12 second car from the factory,a GN was 13.5 to 13.9 with slicks. You can not run modified cars against a sock car to try a prove that one is faster than the other,makes you look like a chump!
If you want to do it like this then mod the viper,put a good driver in it and see what happens!

When the Viper changed gears and dropped back a car, that was at least 55-60mph, they will run 60mph in first at will, he dropped at the next shift as well, that would have been 88-90 mph..

@antz350 - Dodge has built some bang for ur buck cars in the past few years, there srt4 packages are mental, i got a buddy with an 04 srt4 neon with about 350 HP and goes 1/4 mile in under 12 s .. all he has done to it is a boost controller, stage 2 turbo, and intercooler upgrade. so when hes all done and at the track he is only about 30 - 35 grand into his car ..

I think you have this backwards. Every time the Viper shifted, the VIper dropped back. Watch carefully and you can see the Viper's nose drop as he shifts!
i had an 87 gn, i had it going rollin rolling in the 1/4 on slicks low 10's 130's easy! with the V-6 turbo, and mods ofcourse. the stock viper is no match either is that heavy as corvette! i am a GM fan, but the little V6 is a powerhouse with the right mods.
K people here it goes...the 1987 buick gn is electronically limited at 128mph...changing the chip takes off the limit (chips for these cars go for 80 dollars)...a stock gn WILL lose to a stock viper....but gn's can be so easily modified that it doesn't matter anyways....a gnx will also lose but it would put up a better fight....a gnx is not that much greater then a normal gn though (unless your talking about value) considering that it takes less than a grand to put gn's into 12's
If you know your facts the buick isnt that much slower. The buicks are actually within 8 tenths of a second within 0-60 of the viper, and if these were a pair of gnxs they would have the same 0-60 of 4.6 seconds and be with in a half a second of that POS vipers quarter mile STOCK, not bad for a car made 20 years ago thats a little heavier with half the power and almost half the tourque. Not bad for grandpas old buick.

The good ol' days are gone my friend. It's more efficient to have cars that crumble and don't produce any power. Better fuel economy and a car that totals faster in a crash than you can imagine. I watched first hand. A new nissan maxima vs. some sort of 80's model monte carlo, the damn nissan crumbled, the monte just lost a little paint. The only upside to having a vehicle like that, is that the newer vehicles absorb the crash instead of you. It's the other way around in older vehicles.
No, the Turbo Charged flavor GN, which were 84 to 87, had 3.8L V6. The 1982.5 GNs only had a hand full that were turbo charged carburetored 3.8s. The non turbocharged 1982s were 4.1L Sy's and Ty's were turbo charged 4.3L V6 Vortecs.

yeah i guess but when a v12 is as small displacement as that, it sounds crazy. my fav v12 is lamborghinis, they have this high pitched whine in the background of the engine noise i love. and yea the bugatti is a supercar AND a luxury car... two things that i dont think should go together. YEAH you can go 250 and look great doing it but you dont FEEL it.. nah meen? i agree with that list but dont forget to add in a 1967 427 vette stingray :D

I think you have this backwards. Every time the Viper shifted, the VIper dropped back. Watch carefully and you can see the Viper's nose drop as he shifts!

i had an 87 gn, i had it going rollin rolling in the 1/4 on slicks low 10's 130's easy! with the V-6 turbo, and mods ofcourse. the stock viper is no match either is that heavy as corvette! i am a GM fan, but the little V6 is a powerhouse with the right mods.

K people here it goes...the 1987 buick gn is electronically limited at 128mph...changing the chip takes off the limit (chips for these cars go for 80 dollars)...a stock gn WILL lose to a stock viper....but gn's can be so easily modified that it doesn't matter anyways....a gnx will also lose but it would put up a better fight....a gnx is not that much greater then a normal gn though (unless your talking about value) considering that it takes less than a grand to put gn's into 12's

If you know your facts the buick isnt that much slower. The buicks are actually within 8 tenths of a second within 0-60 of the viper, and if these were a pair of gnxs they would have the same 0-60 of 4.6 seconds and be with in a half a second of that POS vipers quarter mile STOCK, not bad for a car made 20 years ago thats a little heavier with half the power and almost half the tourque. Not bad for grandpas old buick.

The good ol' days are gone my friend. It's more efficient to have cars that crumble and don't produce any power. Better fuel economy and a car that totals faster in a crash than you can imagine. I watched first hand. A new nissan maxima vs. some sort of 80's model monte carlo, the damn nissan crumbled, the monte just lost a little paint. The only upside to having a vehicle like that, is that the newer vehicles absorb the crash instead of you. It's the other way around in older vehicles.

No, the Turbo Charged flavor GN, which were 84 to 87, had 3.8L V6. The 1982.5 GNs only had a hand full that were turbo charged carburetored 3.8s. The non turbocharged 1982s were 4.1L Sy's and Ty's were turbo charged 4.3L V6 Vortecs.
