That being said, I do have this strong feeling that I can't explain which makes me think Mars may have been the home to humans or the ancestors of humans. @55vdub Compression is an common algorithm or CODEC, so it will be the same across all photos. The compression used on these pics plus the reassembly of transmitted data (which is text converted into image, by the way) will cause these sort of anomalies and they will look the same from photo to photo.

@55vdub Compression is an common algorithm or CODEC, so it will be the same across all photos. The compression used on these pics plus the reassembly of transmitted data (which is text converted into image, by the way) will cause these sort of anomalies and they will look the same from photo to photo.

@ChristineTeo17 I've seen a picture of this Face of Mars taken more recently with better resolution camera's under the same (and also different) light conditions. It really is just because of bad resolution it looked like a human face.
I agree about how Martians MIGHT see humans, but no they do not exist. Any life on Mars will be either microbial, perhaps multicellular, but relatively 'simple' lifeforms. Whether or not it will look like something recognisable to us or not.

If there ever were a civilasation on mars it was 10 000 years ago or more. ten thousand years ago mars was habiteble and reminded a little bit of earth, but a meteor rain destroyed it. The orange surface of mars is acually ash. Much of the life and virus on earth acually came from mars. Bacteria that had ben fozelised that then cracked loose from mars during meteor showers and then were launched against Earth. when they crashed the cells/bacteria/organism got loose and evolved.
