Ah Edwin - by far the best mage in both games. The only other decent mage in BG1 was Dynaheir but if I remember rightly she couldn't use Conjuration spells. In BG2 I suppose Aerie was half-decent because she was a cleric as well. I always played BG2 ToB with Edwin in my party, not Aerie.

Love Edwin. He's the Best Mage in the WHOLE of Baldur's Gate, hands down. (though Nalia comes quite close in BG2)

I'm afraid in Baldur's Gate I Gorion and Elminster were the better mages because I usually was a mage and solo'ed the game, so I was better then the playable characters.

Same with Baldur's Gate II, still love Arie (I believe she's called). Dual Class Mage, Cleric? Owned :P
