The measles vaccine is one of the first vaccines you will get as a baby and it will and should not be phased out. Thousands of people are already dying from measles in the impoverished world.

There's still a LOT we don't know about Autism and how it occurs and how it varies from individual to individual. But one thing for sure, autism is NOT caused by vaccines.

@tytheeman20 Certain vaccines were known to cause mental retardation (not autism, however) and severe side-effects. Mind you, this was over a decade ago, and even then it was extremely rare. It DID happen though. All the same, get your kids vaccinated. There's absolutely no reason to stray from vaccinations because of this, seeing that it can prove to be more harmful to be susceptible and a potential carrier of an illness.

The only true benefits of a flu shot are that you are fully protected for the winter season from the flu so that you wont lose money due to being sick for work. Pharmaceutical companies want exactly this type of thinking: that vaccines are completely necessary.

@dragonboy718 Smallpox only exists in labs right now. The only way someone gets infected with smallpox ever again is if they are inoculated with those particular samples in these labs. There is no reason for smallpox to be in these labs and there are many petitions asking for those samples to be destroyed. The measles vaccine is one of the first vaccines you will get as a baby and it will and should not be phased out. Thousands of people are already dying from measles in the impoverished world.

@beebopizme I suggest you research how Polio is transmitted. I will answer for you right here: oral-oral (i.e. kissing) or oral-fecal (i.e. bad sanitation/ contaminated water). The 2nd transmission method is the biggest one and fortunately, it does not apply to the developed western world so if I were to go out and french kiss all the people in my city and drink all the sewage (though why would anyone do that?), the chances of me being abducted by aliens is still higher than me catching polio

Polio, smallpox, diptheria, measles, mumps, rubella and rabies (to a smaller extent) have prevented (but not saved) millions of possible deaths. I hope I live to see the day when a vaccine for HIV and malaria comes out. The problem is, the vaccine industry has turned into a for-profit industry now and they are releasing more vaccines than we actually need.

@beebopizme If you do some further research, you will find some disturbing side-effects of vaccines. Obviously, in the smallest font possible. Read the fine print, you might not believe some of the stuff in it. There are many vaccines out there that contain weird things like aborted human fetus tissue, aborted monkey fetus tissue, Mercury (Hg, very toxic chemical) etc.
The Michele Bachmann story here is complete bullshit but the point behind it is something that more people should concern for.

There used to be a time when thousands of people worldwide died of flu. The great flu after the First World War killed more people than the war had and that's saying something. With jet travel these days there is even more incentive to be careful. Maybe some do not need a flu shot but the very young, the elderly, and people with other health problems are especially susceptible to being deathly ill with flu. People on chemo need to get a flu shot. The profit is a USA problem
