Brilliant man..explaining change & awakening in such an easy way.. Sad that the people claiming they are Christians, are threatining Bishop Spong and speak about him with hate speech.. But they are following in Jesus's footsteps.. They should stop crusifying others, like Jesus got crusified.. They are going against their own religion's principles.. We should grand people their own opinions and just love, by setting an example..
Thank you for posting this inspiring video. I am looking at what Unity Churches are around in London, UK. John Shelby is an inspiring and truly spiritual teacher with a very empowering message. I can understand why it is such a threat to the dogmatic and evangelical Christian.

All you have to do is lie to people that it's OK to fulfill the lusts of the flesh now, but you have to do it subtely, just like the devil did with Eve in the garden of Eden. This creates a feeling of liberation, a feeling of opening one's eyes, an awakening - exactly what this man is trying to manifest. Breaking rules, offending God, doing what's perverse and wrong gives the flesh a feeling of freedom. But we must overcome the flesh with the Holy spirit. Sow to the flesh, reap corruption.

What the devil would have us to do is search for a "new" grace rather than resting in the perfect things God has already done. He lies to us that the perfect grace of God is not enough, and that we must search for a new form of liberation - little do people know that this is not the Holy spirit doing this.

This is apostasy in disguise. These are seducing spirits taking over our churches and deceiving us into thinking we can find peace and rest in things other than Jesus. When you take away the Rock, pretty soon you won't be able to call it a church anymore. You might as well turn aside and worship money and powerful men. You can't take Christianity and turn it into another religion, and you can't remove the fear of God. Such a thing is at the heart of Satan's rebellion - to take God's glory.

Why? who gets to make the decision. We have created this thing called Christianity and we set the rules. Then we create a God who is like us, we call God a Him, he gets mad, kills people and then sends them to hell if they don't agree with whatever rule or plan of salvation that has been put in place. This is not the God of the universe, this is the God Religion and a controlling Church. Studying the creation of the Bible will bear this out vs just focusing on a devotional study

This Bishop speaks to the world, and the world hears him. He is very much unlike Christ. Christ was hated by all because he spoke the truth. This Bishop is loved by most because he lies.
Actually this Bishop is the one making Jesus into the figure he wants him to be. He changes the aspects of scripture he doesn't agree with. I am the one that accepts Christ the way he is without wanting to lower him to my level.

As an Australian I have been searching for evidence supporting Spong's claims of a bomb threat here in Australia. I have not found any (websites that simply parrot Spong's own claims are not "evidence"). What did happen: He was banned by Anglican Archbishop of Brisbane, Peter Hollingworth, from speaking in Brisbane diocesan churches in 2001, and banned by Archbishop Peter Jensen from churches in his Sydney diocese in 2007.

There is nothing that refutes the historicity of judaism nor the gospels.
