@firemedic916 Hi and thanks for the question. Unfortunately I don't, since I live in Dallas, TX now. Hopefully, someone will post them. They're both tiller ladders, right?
@vanisland17 Hi there. Yes, you should be able to monitor your local FD dispatch in BC. You just need a scanner, and you need to know the frequencies. You should be able to find these on the internet.
@pyro999maniac Lol it's called a joke. There's a reason why fire apparatus use them, it's gets people's attention and gets them the fuck out of the way. Grow up.
@JamesSCrockett Hi and thanks for the question. I have a RadioShack Triple Trunking PRO-528 trunking scanner. I believe it's actually made by Uniden (?), under contract to RadioShack. I've had it for a couple of years, and have been very happy with it.
That is odd they don't have amiodarone. I thought everyone was using that these days. Really nice station! Cool you caught a on line MD call during a code.
@dandadrumman umm some depts have amiodarone though most are in the process of switching it.. and ACLS got rid of lidocaine all together they dont teach it anymore or starting 2011 they will stop something like that.
we have a fire department here in west lafayette, indiana that is called the wabash township fire department station 1 that has those kind of doors on it and yes they r so awesome and cool the way they open up so fast too
i went thru this station on a tour when i was in the Navy stationed at Everett WA...it is badass and i love those quick opening doors..just so happened they ran on a fire/smoke call while i was there..talk about a whole lot of professionals!
The call actually wasn't even dispatched until about 20 seconds after the ladder left. I think what happened was there was a 911 call in the area and they knew they were going to be dispatched. Ladder's dispatch time was a bit slow.
Yes, that's right. It was two different calls. While my scanner was on the medical channel, I suspect that dispatches were "stacking" ... meaning that E10 knew they had a run a minute or two before the Locution audible came out. That's why both bay doors opened at the same time.
yea in america some areas have a reg that states you need to be out in atmost a min. while others is 2 mins. now would u run like crazy for a B.S call like wires down? also in cites ppl call ambos because they want a free ride to the hos.
Two different calls. Aid 5 had previously been dispatched to a 3rd call in the area. Seattle FD Es and Ts are staffed w/ 4 FFs. Aids and Medics have 2 FFs / paramedics.
Hi and thx for the question. I work in the airline industry and follow fire departments as a hobby. I've monitored the fire dispatch channels in every city I've lived in since the 70s.
same with Chicago my uncle is a Lt. for ENG 16 and 46 and Tk 49 and they use the automated dispatch its like bleeleep blleeleep 3 times and then this crrepy computerized voice comes over
I didn't go into the station, so I don't know. I don't think it's that slow a turn out (L1). E10 responded pretty quickly. They must have got the tone in the station while other calls were still being dispatched via Locution. My scanner was on the MedCom channel after the L1 dispatch. Medic 44 (EMS Super) is talking to the Medic One on-duty doctor at Harborview. They were trying to revive a cardiac patient.
Hi. I haven't heard those unit identifiers before ....are you sure it was an SFD frequency you heard them on? 82 might have been Aid 82, the peak period Aid unit quartered at Stn 2.
Hi. Actually it was on real time 911 they responded to a multiple casualty incident. July 29, 2006. The units I had never heard of before on there were sent. It just said for some units: 82, 88 & 234. It also had MM2, TRN01, RM1 & PIO (Public Information Officer).
I got some action on film today. I drove down to 6246 34th avenue NE. There were flames shooting out of the roof and there was probably about 15 units.
Hi and thanks for the question. There are a variety of types of Engines in the SFD. The newer ones are Emergency One. There are also American LaFrance Metropolitans. Some are hybrids (e.g., Spartan / E-One). Past makes include Kenworth (1950s, '60s, '70s) and Macks ('50s and '80s).
is seattle always busy with calls? on average how much calls do you think they get a day... you should check out my page... I also use a scanner to find out when the trucks get a call
Hi and thanks for your question. There are nearly always ongoing calls. Some stations are busier than others. The busiest are Stns 2, 25, 28, 10 and 17. In the 45 minutes that I was at Stn 2 yesterday, the station got 4 calls. I checked out some of your vids. They look good. Keep up the good work.

The truck would get in trouble in Germany, because all trucks and ladders have to respond in 1 minute. ;)

What channel is the sfd's frequencies on your PRO-528 Triple Trunking Scanner?
yoyoimhome 2 years ago
you'll need to program it w/ about 20 800 mhtz freqs. you can get them from radioreference

I found out these answers from a FF that runs B6.
234= Some kind of chief.
89= Some kind of chief also
TRN01= Train officer 1
MM2= Medic Marshall 2
Didn't know what 82 and RM1 were though.

yoyoimhome 3 years ago
Hi. Yes, this is a spare Ladder. L1's regular rig is a tillered ladder. Must have been in the shop on this day.
ColinFWheeler 3 years ago
What happened to the ladder?
yoyoimhome 3 years ago
It was having routing maintenance performed on it. This is a reserve ladder.
ColinFWheeler 3 years ago
Very strange today on the scanners. Aid 85 is on duty!?
yoyoimhome 3 years ago
Also what is CHAP5?
yoyoimhome 3 years ago
Chaplin 5. Usually dispatched when there is a fatality.
ColinFWheeler 3 years ago
What is MAR5?
yoyoimhome 3 years ago
That's Marshall 5 .... based at Stn 5. It's the Fire Investigation Unit ... determines the cause of fires.
