I am so sick of the argument that people who vote for third party candidates are "splitting the vote." This is the worst for of political paternalism. People who vote for third party candidates DO NOT WANT to vote for the nominees of the two major parties because those parties have failed to "make the sale." I can see one way to get Obama elected with little contest: Edwards can drop out and throw his support behind him, that would tip the scales in a big way. Hillary is a nasty human being, and i don't think she can beat a republican, there's too much baggage involved with the clintons, but Obama has shown that he has crossover appeal, and even though he won't do everything we tried and true liberals would like to see, at least it won't be Mitt Romney.
