There are ten performers on stage and there are only two monitors (the black sound boxes in front of them, in case anyone's that retarded) - of course they're occasionally out of tune.
This version is easily better than the original, if you forgive the certain inaccuracies because of the live performance. Zach Condron could record an A Cappella version and make it a hit single! Excellent stufff fron the Carleton Singing Knights.

@hullaballoo84 definitely NOT better than the original. yes, we all realize that amateur performance is difficult. that being said, picking a song thats out of your range is never a good idea - amateur or professional. the fact that the highest note the background effects singer sings comes out twice as loud as the other notes he sings goes to show he doesnt have enough control over his voice to be comfortable singing them.
those who dont think they did well dont realize how hard this must have been. I say great job, but tell the guy on the far left to stop moving like that he is almost ruining it.
@differently try and perform on a school stage with crap monitors and nerves a-jangling and you'll understand why. Their version of Timbaland's Apologise is the same, but it's still fcuking great to listen to.
@hullaballoo84 Oh yeah, you're right. My whole perspective has changed now and the high notes are perfectly in tune, thanks to your reply to my comment. *boggles*
i realy like to see it again, but with good sound and image. It's already so beautiful that i always come to see again. But I realy like to see the boy`s faces. Please, make it again and make a good filme, the world is seen you (i'm wrinting from northeast Brasil! - sorry for my english!)
This would be brilliant... if that fricken guy third from the right got his notes right. Not only is his high notes off, he's out of key for alot of it. Which sucks cuz he sings an important part.
Not only do you have poor taste in music, you just attempted to bash a fellow Madisonian (Kirke) who is a devout Badger, Packer and Brewer Fan. Look's like some one just lost his You Tube privileges for three months!
you've got to be joking me with this comparing people to Zach Condon...That guy is a beast...If Jason Mraz and Zach Condon had a love child the vibration of his vocal chords would make water into jesus....
If I'd seen this before hearing the real version by Beirut, I'd think that it was amazing. But honestly, there's no comparison. Zach Condon can outshine anyone.

if you had to listen to the original at work you probably would never have expressed that opinion. If you listened to the original you'd realize that it was based on Rufus Wainright, and he is as bland and desolate as the desert wind. Listen to his father and shut the fuck up
!!!!
Loudon Wainwright the first was the originator of any of this and unless you are a choral director, you should probably order your PHO or your Pizza or your egg drop soup and SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
