Every programmer knows that all languages are good at something and that a programming language is just another "tool" in your "toolbox".
If you want quick and simple programs, Visual Basic is the way forward. If you want more advanced programs (at the expense of time) you'd go for a variant of C.
If you want advanced programs that don't take months to write, then you use a scripting language like Python or Perl.
