Leeds isn't as bad as Bradford, it is becoming more and more a third world dump though. I'll be moving to North Yorkshire when I get the chance.

@JohnPurchaseArt i know what you mean though, i live in leeds and i have to drive through lincoln green, burmantofts & harehills everyday and i find it very depressing on the eye, bradford is horrendous, i'm afraid west yorkshire is becoming a dreadful place. i was in york yesterday funnily enough & the place is simply stunning, makes you feel proud to be english when you walk around york but on returning to leeds my heart sank into despair, 41 years ive lived in leeds & now i'd like to leave

I have always lived in Gipton right on the border with Harehills. I hate the place, I have to pass through Compton road everyday, and everyday it looks less English. I know what you mean about York, it's a glorious little city and maintains an English feel, even on a packed saturday afternoon.

There are some beautiful views in Yorkshire, what impressed me the most was the amount of green and the historical buildings, it is definetely worth a visit.
