I LOVE THE JEWS,,,and it hurts me to my heart that they hate christians,,,like when I see the orthodox in Israel screaming missionary and burning houses down,,,I see fr the bible Jews are not going to believe in Jesus until the end,,,some will but the majority will not but I love them as the people who brought GOD to humanity and I love them because I love Yahweh and he loves them
Judaism is a cult of magicians who claim they can over rule God by their Tradition and have in fact two Torahs. and their Tradition is the other Torah that God was defeated by. And so they abrogate the Law of Moses by Tradition and stick their finger in God's eyes. And the Christians have one perfect Jewish Levite Messiah who fully kept the Law of Moses in His own Life and made that deed adoptable spiritually into the hearts and minds of Christians. Who is right, God or the Rabbis ?
Christianity speaks of the Rituralistic Worship Law or Ceremonial Law of Moses as having been fulfilled in the Life of Jesus and that one perfect live given as a gift to Christians by a Spirit of Adoption into their minds that the Moral and Civil Certainties of the Law yet are written on the heart and mind, so that a Christian ought to be able to live in a Jewish Household and not commit moral or social crimes. The Christians are multiplications of Jesus being Divinely numbered into the world
God has taken away the most Holy Things of the Temple Worship so that the Torah Jews must be liars and presumed to have assumed a false identity of being able to argue with God and prevail. The speak about their Tradition as the other Torah, their Oral Law, as not just equal to Moses' Law, but superior in that God was defeated and the Rabbis have taken the Law into their own hands and claim that Jews must believe the Rabbi, even if God was to disagree with their Rabbi, It is a CULT of Magic
@CarmineFragione Wow...harsh words but brutally honest and wise of you to conclude...I agree and I must say I will study your comments as I find this one to be very accurate and helpful after digesting. I have read many things of the like but its been a while since I actually heard someone out right repeat the flaw and error of those who idolize Judaism as if it and the Rabbis within were God Himself(when many of the practices admit they claims a role greater than God and His Word).
Paul likewise says, being a Jew is nothing and being a Gentile is nothing; the important thing is keeping the commandment of God (1 Corinthians 7:19).
John says 'This is the love of God: that we keep His commandments; and his commandments are not grievous (1 John 5:3).' John doesn't specify moral commandments verses ritual, dietary, etc. Neither did Jesus. Who are we to specify? He also says sin is transgression of the law and that "No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him." (1 John 3, ESV) Are you quite sure Dr. Brown is right on this issue?
@iHymn If you only hold to the first testament, you might find yourself rejecting Yeshua ha Moshiach. If you take half of Paul's words, you might think he was saying to remain under the PICTURE law of Moses and consider yourself justified in so doing. Read Galatians again and be more balanced in Paul's position. We are to obey the will of God seen in Torah, NOT the ancient law of Moses which often was contrary to what Jesus said and did(hence He did not kill the adulterer).
@jamlimited3 I just quoted the NT twice. Why would you warn me about only holding to the "first testament?" I am justified by faith in Messiah Yeshua, and that is evidenced by my willingness to obey Him. You think you understand what Galatians means, but you need to look at it more carefully. As Peter warns, 'the unlearned (in the Hebrew Scriptures) and unstable twist Paul's words to their own destruction, so don't be lead away with the error of the LAWLESS.' (2 Peter 3:14-17). Mt. 5:17-20.
@iHymn My example is clear...if one holds to half the Bible they likely reject Yeshua who IS the Messiah likewise if YOU hold to only half of Paul's words then you likely misinterpret. EVERY insight written by Paul is valid so why does Paul CLEARLY say in Galatians that we are NOT to obey the Torah's demand for circumcision? Rather He tells us to obey God's purpose in such a PICTURE which is crucifying the flesh to be of covenant with God hence this my relationship to the PICTURE law of Moses.
@jamlimited3 Careful friend. Peter warns us about misreading Paul (2 Peter 3:14-17). "take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people" Paul plainly says it is not the hearers of the law that are righteous but the doers of the law will be justified (Rom. 2:6-13). And as he says in Galatians, 'even with a man-made covenant, no one annuls it or adds to it once it has been ratified.' (Gal. 3:15) and 'Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not!' (v.21)
@jamlimited3 "Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to those that by nature are not gods. But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more?" (Galatians 4:8-9) Is Paul talking about God's instructions? YOU THINK??!!
@jamlimited3 Ah yes the PICTURE. The "PICTURE" says plainly: "You shall therefore love the LORD your God and keep his charge, his statutes, his rules, and his commandments ALWAYS." (Deut. 11:1) How do you obey this PICTURE if you don't obey it "ALWAYS"?
@jamlimited3 9 times out of 10, Paul is using the term Circumcision as it was often used in his day, to refer to ritual conversion to Judaism. He's saying that if you convert to Judaism to be saved, it would be as falling from grace. If you could be saved by converting to Judaism, then Messiah died for nothing. Paul's words are nuanced. Read carefully. Don't be lead away with the error of the athesmos. There are many laws. Obey the right one and you will live.
@Holy2theName Im not in error...it takes a lot of creativity to miss out on the point within the context. Circumcision was being used as a CLEAR example...for that reason Paul mentions the cutting/crucifying of FLESH. Unlike English speakers today, those were times when people meant what they said and thus used appropriate words. Parable, allegory, or literal, words were chosen carefully. Paul, being a light to the Gentiles, is not hard to understand hence many even today reject Paul.
@iHymn Peter does not explain what he means by people twisting Paul's words, so we can only assume that he was speaking of a specific group of people, and most likely a specific phrase or statement that Paul spoke, and not that all people twisted everything that Paul said. People who twist the word of God usually do so either out of fear, i.e. JW's who reject hell, or out of personal desire for power, i.e. the TV preachers who get rich by twisting it. Paul stated unwaveringly that --cont
@apologeticsman Not true, Peter does explain, and in no uncertain terms. He concludes 2 Peter 3with the following statement: "17You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless (ἄθεσμος) people and lose your own stability."
ἄθεσμος: "one who breaks through the restraint of law and gratifies his lusts"
@apologeticsman (Cont. 1) "But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." (v.18) Lawlessness, you see, is in opposition to grace.
Your works cannot save you -- I never said they could -- but God demands that your righteousness in the matters of your obedience to the law and the prophets exceeds that of the scribes and the Pharisees or you "certainly will not enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:17-20)
It is indeed through the faith of Abraham... (Cont.)
@iHymn Our righteousness does not exceed that of the Pharisees, except because of the righteousness of Jesus being imputed to us by faith. If we could be obedient to the laws and ordinances, grace and faith would be null and void. I obey God because I am grateful for HAVING been saved, not to compliment God's grace. Grace is not in any way shape or form obtainable by any action on our part, it is given when we trust in Jesus. This mixture of laws and grace is heresy, and must be put down
@apologeticsman How very Lutheran of you. Follow Luther if you will, I will follow Christ. In Matthew 5:17-20, Christ says in no uncertain terms that YOUR righteousness in the matters of the law and the prophets must exceed the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisees or you certainly will not enter the kingdom of heaven. He does not say unless HIS righteousness is applied to you. He is talking to those who believe [in] him. It is not too difficult to obey the law (Deuteronomy 30:11).
I am waiting to see you follow Christ, because from what you told me so far, you are trying to save yourself by observance of Torah, not by faith in Jesus. You can't have it both ways, either salvation is a gift, NOT OF WORKS, or we save ourselves. When people tell me that we must obey the law to be saved, I always ask them "ok, so at what point did you become as perfect as Jesus?" Because that is the only way you can be saved by observance of the law. We are saved by Jesus, His righteousness
@apologeticsman Follow Christ by keeping his words. He says he has not come to abolish the law or the prophets! He says whoever breaks the least of these will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. He says whoever does them and teaches them will be called great. And he says unless YOUR RIGHTEOUS (Deuteronomy 6:25) exceeds that of the scribes and the Pharisees, you certainly will not enter the kingdom of heaven! (Matthew 5:17-20). Salvation is a gift. Don't reject it by your disobedience.
@iHymn so, has your righteousness exceeded the Pharisees? Be careful to answer honestly, because the Pharisees observed the law to the letter... they spent their entire lives doing nothing but studying Torahand doing every tiny little thing it said. Are you better than them? Also, ask yourself this, if their righteousness was not enough to save them, how is it that you or I could ever hope to exceed their righteousness? I have exceeded their righteousness by faith in Messiah.
@apologeticsman You're right and you're wrong about the Pharisees. They did not keep the Torah as best as it can be kept as you have been told. They routinely rejected the commandment of God for their own tradition (see Mark 7). For your righteousness to exceed theirs, you must not reject commandments for man's traditions, for example. Your righteousness is directly related to your obedience to God's instructions. You are only more righteous if you are more righteous (1 John 3:7).
@iHymn The Pharisees rejected their need for a savior! That's why their righteousness was never enough, because they failed to acknowledge that salvation is by Grace, and if it could be by works, someone would have been saved by works already. Only Jesus lived the entire law the way it was supposed to be lived, so it is only by His righteousness and faith in Him that we can be saved. When you are perfect and sinless, come see me, but until then, I will trust in Jesus to save me
@apologeticsman Some did. Not all. Paul was a Pharisee of Pharisees by his own admission, as were MANY of the earliest believers, who were "ZEALOUS FOR THE LAW." (Acts 21:17-26)
You're like a broken record. You're not listening. I have said repeatedly that salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone. You're confused if you think that obeying the law constitutes trying to be saved by works. That's ridiculous. It's good that you trust Jesus. Trust that what he says is the Truth.
"But—“When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior" Titus 3:4-6 I am not a Lutheran, they believe in an earthly priesthood. However, if Lutherans believe in salvation by grace through faith then that at least is enough for them to be saved.
@apologeticsman If indeed your sins are washed away, you will stop sinning as a matter of lifestyle. "Sin is transgression of the law." So do the math. Sorry, neighbour, in love, you're wrong: Believing in salvation by grace through faith is not enough to be saved. Faith is acting on that belief. No observance of the law will ever be enough to save you, but if you won't stop sinning, your mental assent won't save you. The demons believe and tremble. Faith demands obedience.
@apologeticsman He who says he is without sin is a liar, but I do not nullify any of God's instructions... all his righteous rules endure forever (Psalm 119:160). Whether or not I obey is not a reason for you to obey or not obey. If you're waiting for other men to obey God before you obey God, you're in big trouble.
What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ & be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.
@apologeticsman Most importantly, Christ's words: He says, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you;depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.' (ESV)
@apologeticsman Because of the faith of Abraham are all nations blessed, yes indeed. And what did that faith look like? What IS faith? The very first appearance of the word TORAH in The Torah is in reference to Abraham! The LORD appears to Isaac to confirm his oath that He swore to Abraham, that he is going to bless all nations through the seed of Isaac, and what does he say? "Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my TORAH." (Cont.)
@apologeticsman (Cont. 3) As James says, faith without works is dead being alone. So what works are there for us to do? "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10, ESV)
Scripture is totally consistent from beginning to end.
"The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever." (Psalm 119:160)
@iHymn --cont- that what we do, i.e. works or "ergon" in Greek does not save us. In fact, the works and rituals that men did never saved them, it was always faith and the Torah law of Moses was the result of a man named Abraham being called to be the father of many nations, based not on his obedience to laws, but his faith. The Laws, i.e. 613 mitsvot did not save us, but only showed us (all the world) that we needed a savior. If laws could save, all men would have been subject to the Mosaic law
@iHymn you must agree that a new born Jewish son, cannot be brought under the Law of Circumcision for until the 8th day. So a Born Again Christian, fills in the time of the New Born , with legal powers of the Father, the Shepherd Guardian, which for us is Jesus, a Jewish High Priest and Rabbi in One Levite Jew, all authority to maintain the innocence of a newly born child of God, to be always less than the 8th day old in Spirit until death and Resurrection brings the Christian to 8th day.
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" Galatians 2:20-21
@apologeticsman Ah yes, Galatians. Do you really think it was written to justify the Protestant reformation? It was written long before that for entirely different reasons. What law precisely is Paul speaking of here? Are you sure? In his epistles, he uses the Greek word νόμος (nomos) for a number of different things; God's law, man's law, the law of sin and death, ETC. Besides, if it is indeed Christ who lives and not you, you would keep the Torah (1 John 2:6)! He kept and taught Torah!!
The Bible does not contradict itself, therefore James and Paul can not be in opposition. You noted that Paul says that "WE" are supposed to walk in works, but who is "WE"? It is obvious that the we in that verse is those who have already received salvation by grace, through faith in Jesus. We are supposed to do good works BECAUSE we are saved, not to compliment or reinforce the salvation we already have. The only way a saved person can be lost again is by losing their faith and rejecting Jesus
@apologeticsman Look, I never said you have to earn your salvation by your works, I said faith demands works; it is in NON-EXISTENT without obedience. The first word of the Gospel is repent. It's REPENT AND TRUST in Jesus Christ. I would encourage you to read Ezekiel 18. The soul who sins shall die. G-d is very clear. Sin is transgression of the law. He who repents will be saved, so turn and live.
@iHymn You are theologically confused. I suggest that you read God's word in it's entirety, and stop listening to the ministers that you apparently have been listening to, and get your truth directly from the Bible. You continue to contradict yourself, and frankly I am wasting my time on you when there are people who want to be saved and need my time. Either you are saved by grace which is UNMERITED favor, or you are saved by works. There is no in between, there is no meeting God halfway
@apologeticsman Your advice is good. You should take it yourself. I am not "theologically confused". The confusion is your respect of man's theology over Scripture. Here's the only theology you will ever need: "Blessed are they who hear the Word of God (the Torah) and obey." (Luke 11:28)
If you hate God's rules, then how do you suppose you are "saved"? Mental assent is not faith. Maybe that's your confusion.
@iHymn The outward ritualistic behavior of obeying the Law was finished in the works done by Jesus, where Jesus is the Son and we are merely the sheep of His Fold. So God concludes all the Christians as property under the entitlement of the King, the Son of God as King, and so, we vicariously are living in the Body of Christ, who did obey the Law and are thus carried in a womb of Grace, being his flocks, and then God permits Jesus to Mediate for the Christians as chattel God gave the Son
Being a Christian for many years, I have read the Bible Completely differently since i coupled it with my " Complete Jewish Bible , An English Version by David H.Stern. To understand the culture then, and Yeshua/Jesus words, via the study of these Bible's KJV and Stern's, has opend my eyes. T.V. & movies are putting peole into the set, to live it almost, when I study with these together, all is new, with deeper knowledge & Love of my Lord.
Excellent teachings! I am finding the wonderful fullness of God in His word and seeing how the Torah (teachings) and Prophets hold true to today! If God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow how can His word not hold true in today's world also! I have been seeing how even the jots and tittles can be so very important. Thank God He is making us one new man in Christ! The Aaronic blessing to you! Numbers 6:24-26
check out my comments on Bernstien's 10commantments Scores, A great place to spread the Gospel. I love the Jewish Peoples, They are the reason, we have Messiah Yeshua.I heard we will be speaking Hebrew in Heaven, I'm getting a head star now.keep up the faith, a struggle daily expecially with the Great delusion happening in church's called the Ecumenical Movement ( BrianMclaren/Ollsteen/Rick Warren) This truly is the end of the age.
I admire your zeal! Yout oo be blessed...oh and about Hebrew in heaven, I used to thinkt hat too until I realized Hebrew is the language of Eber that was likely closest to the original language we spoke yet for a fact that languange(as all languages) has changed so I find comfort in knowing Hebrew of today is just a sample of Hebrew tomorrow(yet I find Hebrew names hold a closer preview of what the Hebrew language used to sound like and what language will sound like).
@TheEndtymsnatzal A-Men I am working on learning hebrew I havent gotten past the alefbiet yet just started. YOu are soo true speaking on the "emergent/Ecumencial" These people are seriously leading people astray, not to mention Bell/Mclaren idea of allowin and/or teaching pegan rituals, such as yoga, the labrinth, buddism etc. I get alot of flack for speaking out against it.
i will trust the writtings of the Jewish people over a mormon anyday, there's no comparison. I viewed a MORMAN cartoon, BANNED. It was very interesting ( On youtube) how it showed in 5 minutes , WHAT they belive and is it ever WILD STUFF, & that's not the HIDDEN HIGHER up stuff.!!! check-GOOGLE,type-in box--> youtube- Mormon cartoon BANNED ( it should come up) it's not rude of profane, just offensive to them , I guess, It didn't look it to me though. Just WAY OUT DEPICTION. of beleif.
I pologize for the late reply...yeah Is aw that cartoon. They have one for the Jehovas Witnesses too...they both blew me away as they were visualy depicted as to eliminate any false imagery Mormons and JW's use to make their beliefs seem sound and realistic. Im going to refavorite those videos...thanks for reminding me.
It's o.k. time is short these days. I just recieve your NIV response. What do you think of the LINEAR or something bible..do you know about this. Is it a good accurate read?and What about many verses taken out about the Blood of Christ taken out in the NIV. I heard from a Messianch Rabbi, it's the devil's work, via man, changing it slowly. your take please.
I know many translations exist with certain simplified purposes....you can only take them for what they are. Wisdom could expose why such translations are folly but at the moment I dont have the mind to speak on that. Im more like Paul on this in saying, the motives may be wrong but as long as they are preaching Messiah. Tares will be here with the Wheat...translations have freedom to add and remove words yet I look for spiritual integrity rather than parrot-like accuracy.
Who knows how trustworthy anybook with words is...it could have been written by men(and we all know how al men are natural born sinners). Your humor doesnt impart wisdom but the folly of inaction that has so many playing a religious game when in fact Adam lost and Jesus preached a Kingdom hence the prison(Hell), the army of angels, the death sentences that await us rebels, and the throne of kingship.
Also the Torah wasnt changed because it would only be destroyed by Satan's children back in the day. Today is a new age in which Satan not only destroyes scripture, but he influences men to pervert them as Bible are now given to any and everyone(versus when the Torah was only in the hands of the officials of Israel). Even in the time of Yeshua the Torah was only at the synagogues...ibut Jews did add many books with(not to) the Torah and have essentially done the same as Mormons etc.
continued.... When talking to Muslims, or Jews, the embarresing truth that may come up when presenting the BIBLE is " which BIBLE" there soooo many versions and pervertions & they come back with their Torah or KORAN hasn't CHANGED ... I need your help!
That is actually proof of the true Bible. The true Bible s the one the devil works day and night to mistranslate and pervert...no other book on planet earth has been attacked and changed as much as the Bible, and though it has been attacked it still stands alone being the ONLY book with TRUE prophecy within, prophetic stories that mirror things to come, Kingdom insights that cant be denied(trinity doctrine etc), and many preserved canons of ONLY the true books God swore preserve.
question 2. I know that we miss alot of deeper meaning because of the loss of the Jewish words written by the translators, even in the KJV. It's hard to witness to Jews when your dealing with GREEK to English writtings in most BIBLEs. Please direct me to the truest, closest to the HEBREW newtestament. Thanks.
The truth is God choose the Greek for a reason...it is one of the most sophisticated languages with its MANY words for many things versus most languages' few words for many things. There are like 8 different words for our word love, for the purpose of being specific in delivering meaning versus our vague almost meaningless use of words in english. Its the time of the Gentiles so many things will make Jews stumble(like Joseph hiding his identity from his brothers until hes revealed at the end).
I need to know if there is a Hebrew Hebrew to English translation BIBLE or book, not from GREEK or latin translation to English. I 've been told that the KJV is the closest we have, & am aware of the NIV & other new versions have taken out the Blood & many things. looking for a book to study along side of my KJV aswell, I have David H. Stern Compleete Jewish Bible too .answer please?
There are individual books(in/of the Bible) that are from Hebrew but the truth is KJV, NIV, spanish translation, chinese translation, and any other translation falls short EVERYTIME as translation is done at the liberty and integrity of the interpeter(who most always is a person of integrity who just so happens to fall short of perfection). The best thing is to get a trusted translation that speaks your language CLEARLY and then get an exhaustive concordance for deeper interpetation.
what TRUSTED translation do you use, as a scholar, in your field, I trust that you have come to that conclusion for a reason, which gives me an opportunity to check it out via your expertise. I have a s trongs Concordance, 3 of them. I need a BIBLE of your opionion that is Closest to truth? could you suggest one please? thanks.
I simply follow the advice I gave you...I use a NIV . I enjoy that it uses a sophisticated yet modern day english, grants notes that reveal meanings behind certain names/words, and also notes different possible meanings of certain scriptures including the trusted historically scrolls that did not have certain scriptures on them(as some of them were missing a few minor scriptures that other trusted scrolls had). I think I too use a Strong's exhaustive Concordance(its huge and effective!)
These holy days were all signs, pointing to the ultimate reality of Jesus. He fullfilled them so there is no longer a need them, he has come. Now are Holy days are based upon him Christmas his birth, Good friday his death , Easter his ressurection. Its as simple as that. Remember the true Jew is the Spiritual Jew not the one of the flesh , this is the teaching of St paul.
Great video. It was foretold in the Bible that Jewish people will start accepting Yashuah in record numbers. It was meant to be and that is God's plan!
all religious people are going to hell if there is one. How dare you say that God has told you anything? pathetic humans belivieng in other humans words.

@jamlimited3 Ah yes the PICTURE. The "PICTURE" says plainly: "You shall therefore love the LORD your God and keep his charge, his statutes, his rules, and his commandments ALWAYS." (Deut. 11:1) How do you obey this PICTURE if you don't obey it "ALWAYS"?
iHymn 1 year ago
@jamlimited3 9 times out of 10, Paul is using the term Circumcision as it was often used in his day, to refer to ritual conversion to Judaism. He's saying that if you convert to Judaism to be saved, it would be as falling from grace. If you could be saved by converting to Judaism, then Messiah died for nothing. Paul's words are nuanced. Read carefully. Don't be lead away with the error of the athesmos. There are many laws. Obey the right one and you will live.
Holy2theName 9 months ago
@Holy2theName Im not in error...it takes a lot of creativity to miss out on the point within the context. Circumcision was being used as a CLEAR example...for that reason Paul mentions the cutting/crucifying of FLESH. Unlike English speakers today, those were times when people meant what they said and thus used appropriate words. Parable, allegory, or literal, words were chosen carefully. Paul, being a light to the Gentiles, is not hard to understand hence many even today reject Paul.
jamlimited3 8 months ago

And then contrasts that again the following...
(Cont.)
iHymn 1 year ago
@apologeticsman (Cont. 1) "But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." (v.18) Lawlessness, you see, is in opposition to grace.
Your works cannot save you -- I never said they could -- but God demands that your righteousness in the matters of your obedience to the law and the prophets exceeds that of the scribes and the Pharisees or you "certainly will not enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:17-20)
It is indeed through the faith of Abraham... (Cont.)
iHymn 1 year ago
@iHymn Our righteousness does not exceed that of the Pharisees, except because of the righteousness of Jesus being imputed to us by faith. If we could be obedient to the laws and ordinances, grace and faith would be null and void. I obey God because I am grateful for HAVING been saved, not to compliment God's grace. Grace is not in any way shape or form obtainable by any action on our part, it is given when we trust in Jesus. This mixture of laws and grace is heresy, and must be put down
apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman How very Lutheran of you. Follow Luther if you will, I will follow Christ. In Matthew 5:17-20, Christ says in no uncertain terms that YOUR righteousness in the matters of the law and the prophets must exceed the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisees or you certainly will not enter the kingdom of heaven. He does not say unless HIS righteousness is applied to you. He is talking to those who believe [in] him. It is not too difficult to obey the law (Deuteronomy 30:11).
iHymn 1 year ago
I am waiting to see you follow Christ, because from what you told me so far, you are trying to save yourself by observance of Torah, not by faith in Jesus. You can't have it both ways, either salvation is a gift, NOT OF WORKS, or we save ourselves. When people tell me that we must obey the law to be saved, I always ask them "ok, so at what point did you become as perfect as Jesus?" Because that is the only way you can be saved by observance of the law. We are saved by Jesus, His righteousness
apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman Follow Christ by keeping his words. He says he has not come to abolish the law or the prophets! He says whoever breaks the least of these will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. He says whoever does them and teaches them will be called great. And he says unless YOUR RIGHTEOUS (Deuteronomy 6:25) exceeds that of the scribes and the Pharisees, you certainly will not enter the kingdom of heaven! (Matthew 5:17-20). Salvation is a gift. Don't reject it by your disobedience.
iHymn 1 year ago
@iHymn so, has your righteousness exceeded the Pharisees? Be careful to answer honestly, because the Pharisees observed the law to the letter... they spent their entire lives doing nothing but studying Torahand doing every tiny little thing it said. Are you better than them? Also, ask yourself this, if their righteousness was not enough to save them, how is it that you or I could ever hope to exceed their righteousness? I have exceeded their righteousness by faith in Messiah.
apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman You're right and you're wrong about the Pharisees. They did not keep the Torah as best as it can be kept as you have been told. They routinely rejected the commandment of God for their own tradition (see Mark 7). For your righteousness to exceed theirs, you must not reject commandments for man's traditions, for example. Your righteousness is directly related to your obedience to God's instructions. You are only more righteous if you are more righteous (1 John 3:7).
iHymn 1 year ago
@iHymn The Pharisees rejected their need for a savior! That's why their righteousness was never enough, because they failed to acknowledge that salvation is by Grace, and if it could be by works, someone would have been saved by works already. Only Jesus lived the entire law the way it was supposed to be lived, so it is only by His righteousness and faith in Him that we can be saved. When you are perfect and sinless, come see me, but until then, I will trust in Jesus to save me
apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman Some did. Not all. Paul was a Pharisee of Pharisees by his own admission, as were MANY of the earliest believers, who were "ZEALOUS FOR THE LAW." (Acts 21:17-26)
You're like a broken record. You're not listening. I have said repeatedly that salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone. You're confused if you think that obeying the law constitutes trying to be saved by works. That's ridiculous. It's good that you trust Jesus. Trust that what he says is the Truth.
iHymn 1 year ago
"But—“When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior" Titus 3:4-6 I am not a Lutheran, they believe in an earthly priesthood. However, if Lutherans believe in salvation by grace through faith then that at least is enough for them to be saved.
apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman If indeed your sins are washed away, you will stop sinning as a matter of lifestyle. "Sin is transgression of the law." So do the math. Sorry, neighbour, in love, you're wrong: Believing in salvation by grace through faith is not enough to be saved. Faith is acting on that belief. No observance of the law will ever be enough to save you, but if you won't stop sinning, your mental assent won't save you. The demons believe and tremble. Faith demands obedience.
iHymn 1 year ago
@iHymn so, have you stopped sinning? Be careful to answer correctly and honestly, because your soul depends on the answer.
apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman He who says he is without sin is a liar, but I do not nullify any of God's instructions... all his righteous rules endure forever (Psalm 119:160). Whether or not I obey is not a reason for you to obey or not obey. If you're waiting for other men to obey God before you obey God, you're in big trouble.
iHymn 1 year ago
What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ & be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.
apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman Great, if that's true then turn from your sin to God and submit to His Law by faith in Jesus Christ.
iHymn 1 year ago

@apologeticsman Most importantly, Christ's words: He says, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you;depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.' (ESV)
So who is really saved? Stop following men...
iHymn 1 year ago
@apologeticsman Because of the faith of Abraham are all nations blessed, yes indeed. And what did that faith look like? What IS faith? The very first appearance of the word TORAH in The Torah is in reference to Abraham! The LORD appears to Isaac to confirm his oath that He swore to Abraham, that he is going to bless all nations through the seed of Isaac, and what does he say? "Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my TORAH." (Cont.)
iHymn 1 year ago
@apologeticsman (Cont.
"The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever." (Psalm 119:160)
iHymn 1 year ago
@iHymn --cont- that what we do, i.e. works or "ergon" in Greek does not save us. In fact, the works and rituals that men did never saved them, it was always faith and the Torah law of Moses was the result of a man named Abraham being called to be the father of many nations, based not on his obedience to laws, but his faith. The Laws, i.e. 613 mitsvot did not save us, but only showed us (all the world) that we needed a savior. If laws could save, all men would have been subject to the Mosaic law
apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman So what then, now that you know you need a Saviour, you can reject God's commandment? May it never be.
iHymn 1 year ago

I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" Galatians 2:20-21
apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman Ah yes, Galatians. Do you really think it was written to justify the Protestant reformation? It was written long before that for entirely different reasons. What law precisely is Paul speaking of here? Are you sure? In his epistles, he uses the Greek word νόμος (nomos) for a number of different things; God's law, man's law, the law of sin and death, ETC. Besides, if it is indeed Christ who lives and not you, you would keep the Torah (1 John 2:6)! He kept and taught Torah!!
iHymn 1 year ago
The Bible does not contradict itself, therefore James and Paul can not be in opposition. You noted that Paul says that "WE" are supposed to walk in works, but who is "WE"? It is obvious that the we in that verse is those who have already received salvation by grace, through faith in Jesus. We are supposed to do good works BECAUSE we are saved, not to compliment or reinforce the salvation we already have. The only way a saved person can be lost again is by losing their faith and rejecting Jesus
apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman Look, I never said you have to earn your salvation by your works, I said faith demands works; it is in NON-EXISTENT without obedience. The first word of the Gospel is repent. It's REPENT AND TRUST in Jesus Christ. I would encourage you to read Ezekiel 18. The soul who sins shall die. G-d is very clear. Sin is transgression of the law. He who repents will be saved, so turn and live.
iHymn 1 year ago
@iHymn You are theologically confused. I suggest that you read God's word in it's entirety, and stop listening to the ministers that you apparently have been listening to, and get your truth directly from the Bible. You continue to contradict yourself, and frankly I am wasting my time on you when there are people who want to be saved and need my time. Either you are saved by grace which is UNMERITED favor, or you are saved by works. There is no in between, there is no meeting God halfway
apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman Your advice is good. You should take it yourself. I am not "theologically confused". The confusion is your respect of man's theology over Scripture. Here's the only theology you will ever need: "Blessed are they who hear the Word of God (the Torah) and obey." (Luke 11:28)
If you hate God's rules, then how do you suppose you are "saved"? Mental assent is not faith. Maybe that's your confusion.
iHymn 1 year ago

Yout oo be blessed...oh and about Hebrew in heaven, I used to thinkt hat too until I realized Hebrew is the language of Eber that was likely closest to the original language we spoke yet for a fact that languange(as all languages) has changed so I find comfort in knowing Hebrew of today is just a sample of Hebrew tomorrow(yet I find Hebrew names hold a closer preview of what the Hebrew language used to sound like and what language will sound like).

i will trust the writtings of the Jewish people over a mormon anyday, there's no comparison. Just WAY OUT DEPICTION. of beleif.

It's o.k. time is short these days.
TheEndtymsnatzal 2 years ago

Even in the time of Yeshua the Torah was only at the synagogues...ibut Jews did add many books with(not to) the Torah and have essentially done the same as Mormons etc.
jamlimited3 2 years ago
continued.... When talking to Muslims, or Jews, the embarresing truth that may come up when presenting the BIBLE is " which BIBLE" there soooo many versions and pervertions & they come back with their Torah or KORAN hasn't CHANGED ... I need your help!
TheEndtymsnatzal 2 years ago

Thanks.
TheEndtymsnatzal 2 years ago
The truth is God choose the Greek for a reason...it is one of the most sophisticated languages with its MANY words for many things versus most languages' few words for many things. There are like 8 different words for our word love, for the purpose of being specific in delivering meaning versus our vague almost meaningless use of words in english. Its the time of the Gentiles so many things will make Jews stumble(like Joseph hiding his identity from his brothers until hes revealed at the end).
jamlimited3 2 years ago
I need to know if there is a Hebrew Hebrew to English translation BIBLE or book, not from GREEK or latin translation to English. I 've been told that the KJV is the closest we have, & am aware of the NIV & other new versions have taken out the Blood & many things. looking for a book to study along side of my KJV aswell, I have David H. Stern Compleete Jewish Bible too .answer please?
TheEndtymsnatzal 2 years ago
There are individual books(in/of the Bible) that are from Hebrew but the truth is KJV, NIV, spanish translation, chinese translation, and any other translation falls short EVERYTIME as translation is done at the liberty and integrity of the interpeter(who most always is a person of integrity who just so happens to fall short of perfection). The best thing is to get a trusted translation that speaks your language CLEARLY and then get an exhaustive concordance for deeper interpetation.
jamlimited3 2 years ago
what TRUSTED translation do you use, as a scholar, in your field, I trust that you have come to that conclusion for a reason, which gives me an opportunity to check it out via your expertise. I have a s trongs Concordance, 3 of them. I need a BIBLE of your opionion that is Closest to truth? could you suggest one please? thanks.
TheEndtymsnatzal 2 years ago
