We've sold over 1500 BarbeSkew's this year and only had comments from 2 customers about the motor. Both motors were replaced. I think the television microphones have distorted the sound to make it sound loud and whiney.
Your comment about the burnt effect on the fun of a BBQ reflects the whole thing that is wrong with the British cultures view of the BBQ. The smokey bbq effect comes from rotating the food in the smoke with the lid down - not burnt, but beautifully barbecued. Try it!
This seems like an interesting product and I've got to admit I like the idea. Only problem I see with it is that the motor seems pretty loud and whiney, also isnt that burnt effect on food half the fun of a BBQ?
Bought the Barebeskew II after seeing this. Fantastic product and changes the way we have barbecues ! i can now enjoy the social and not spend my time with my head over the grill burning food ! quality product would definitely recommend.
