  • Thanks for the comments. Sorry I am so slow in answering questions:

    1. My son is at ISU - Iowa State Univ.

    2. The camera is a spy camera that is the size of a pack of gum. If you search e-bay for spy camera and pack of gum you will see it. Some US sellers now have it for around $15 I believe. They also sell a version that is built in an ink pen. That would probably be easier to mount in a rocket.

  • ISU? Illinois State Univ?

  • Fantastic! Thank you for posting.

  • Fantastic video! My daughter and I loved the separation slow motion. Thanks for posting!

  • Great work! I have used the same kind of camera a few times, and I love it. Finally there is a cheap digital option that is ideal for rocketry (how many years has the hobby been forced to deal with giant cameras or film?) I just got a 2nd spy camera, one built to look like a large ballpoint pen. It looks out sideways (and is thus very aerodynamic when installed on the rocket.) Looking forward to testing it.

  • right over some nice flamable hay :)

  • what camera is that?

  • Great video!! I really enjoyed it.

  • That was AWESOME!.. It was cool to see the slow motion stage-separation and the apogee/chute deployment... Great video!
