Frankly speaking the way this dude is playing the game seems either he is too damn good or there is some trick that computer is playing here. I played a lots of games but to do with this perfection its not at all possible. I am at this level for over a day and i can not do one jump correctly where as after seeing this i must say that i should stop playing the computer games. This guy is not using a single medi pack how is it possible. I am totally mesmerazied after seeing this too good!!!
Oh, that! Well, you perform a swan and take your guns out at the same time. In effect this means pressing forward+guns out at the same time, then pressing crouch as always for a swan dive. The timing for pressing forward+guns at the same time needs to be pretty exact.
You quite simply jump off the grapple, and grab hold of the swinging bar. There's no real trick to it. I don't know if it works across all platforms though. This is from the PC version.
Haven't played the game since I broke the disc, can't remember. I think I used to have sensitivy on max. Combat mode was definitely Advanced - Toggle. Shoot on L Mouse, Jump on R and M. Grab on M.
The ability to intentionally "miss" a ledge when you have to drop down several. Plus, you can let go of M. Grab at any time during the swingpole swing animation, and Lara will magically jump off just like that. Saves several seconds on poles where a full stop is unavoidable.

dont know if you know this, but at 4:03 in your vid, instead of going back to use the block, you could go across to the bars on the other side to activate a checkpoint, die, and you'd restart on the other side of those steel bars.

The speedruns are a biiiiitch on the XB360. I've tried all the glitch tricks and they don't work. I can barely get it to glitch on anything. My sister in-law though, she's a button smasher. She can get any game to tweak out.
Thanks...That series of retracting ledges from the top was tough until I seen this. My first jump was to the one closest to me--didn't know that you could make it to what I thought was the second ledge first.
For the previous one, first you press jump and shoot at the same time, then roll, like in a normal swan dive. The jump+shoot needs to be pretty exact, so it's kinda hard to perform.
No, I haven't found a reliable way to dodge the leopards. Especially annoying if they grab your hand while you're pulling the lever and you get stuck afterwards. (They can still do that, even though they can't damage you while you're pulling a lever)
Thank you for answering. :D It's really awesome you performed it successfully at the very end of the lvl. If it was not well done, that might have become a pistol jumping something instead, which would slow you down. I think I saw this in your Manor run as well. ^^
Btw, just after posting that comment here, I've found a more reliable (but still not reliable enough) way to dodge the second couple of leopards. That is just to focus the camera onto the ground... o.O Really odd, isn't it?
This can avoid triggering leopards to come out too early, but when you're near to those doors they're hiding in, they'll still come out wherever you position your camera. So, to the first couple of leopards, you might still be biten while you're pulling off the switch, like you said.
And for the 2nd couple, sometimes, they'll still knock you down when you're almost near that ledge you're gonna grab cuz that's already near the doors so that the camera glitch won't work there. :(

Wow, there's some really cool shortcuts in there. I'm stuck on this level on the PC at the moment because I'm having trouble changing the camera view as I'm jumping across the statues.
On Obelisk of Khamoon, once the level first starts, go right.
Before you flip the switch, go in between the pillar closest to it and the second one. Do a swan dive off, and try to hit the ground where you first
go to continue the level.
If done correctly, you will reload in THE CROFT MANOR!
You will have the two circular objects and, if on the time trial, you will still be on it. After that, go to the door that you need to unlock to beat the Croft Manor.
Awesome! Would never be able to best this no matter how hard i tried.

Could you dodge those black leopards reliably? I seldom succeed in dodging them, especially after pulling down the switch.

I don't know if it works on PS2, but you could try. How to do it... There's nothing weird you have to do, you just jump to it from the grapple.

If you jump towards the swing-pole, Lara grabs it regardless of the door being closed. Simple as that xD
