@AbominableHuman I believe that Steve was making a reference to the fact that the truck has 2 shifters one is a high/low, i bet the main is a 4 sp. all trucks used to have 2 shifters before air ops splitters.

Good point,. yes that is exactly what I was trying to get at. Some larger trucks even had three shifters, not to mention the spliiters on rear, or that "Roadrangers" got inthe mix with additional sticks if extra power was needed...:)

Black paint instead of that iron gray, take off the visor and replace with a chrome visor in different styling. Other than that, damn nice truck.

@yamahonkawazuki Now that would be cool. Ruby mixed with some cobalt blue and a bit of metallic copper paint could look nice too. Those tires, though, might be a little hard to tie into the paint scheme.

@thecowboycowboy ratrod schmatrod just because you have whitewalls and flat black paint does not mean a fucking thing! those pipes would look better gone over with scotchbrite to make them look like brushed aluminum or stainless steel! not one black and one chrome because the one you painted obviously was not prepped or the paint would not be flaking off!

@bringdnoiz exhaust pipes get extremely hot, considering turbo temps can reach, oh I dont know, 1500 degrees, as it goes through well say at least 300-500 degrees runnin hard. Paint out of a rattlecan isnt able to stick at that temp. You need high temp paint. Not faulted by prep. So good job on being a dumbass. I look forward to reading your reply about trucks and chrome and how much of a supertrucker you are. :)

@thecowboycowboy im not a super trucker i build traditional hotrods and build heads for an a/fuel dragster and front engine top fueler so dont tell me about heat fucktard. i also know if you do not prep chome as in this case paint will not stick, i have the same thing going on with a 65 barracuda im working on. someone painted all of the stainless and chrome black and it is flaking right off. besides these pipes probably dont see 600 degrees especially at the top.

@bringdnoiz i love traditional rods as much as the next guy, but seeing something different and original is just as good. even if it does look like it rolled straight out of the junkyard. i build mopars as well, its always awesome to see a clean mopar, but i think its better to see one that isn't like every other car out there. Do something original with em. even if it's having non matching stacks, or painted stacks or whatever the case may be. He's not looking to build a cardboard cutout.

I remember as a kid my father Glenn Crilly and Dale Atherton restoring a 60's 2 axle KW at Jansen Transportation in Orange County CA. I remember the feeling of looking down that long narrow nose as we rode thru La Mirada. He has passed but ill never forget growing up around these old trucks. Good job bro, sweet ride!
