Wow, that was terrific. Fantastic tumbling. But unfortunately, this was a time when if you didn't compete for one of the team superpowers, you were not going to get the scores that allowed you to contend for medals. There were always exceptions, such as Kim Gwang Suk, but generally, you didn't have much of a chance unless you were Soviet, Romanian, American or Chinese.

Alicia Sacremone had a routine on very similar music abot 15 years later but neither her tumbling, nor her dance can hold a candle to Maya's work.

Just discovered the wonderful Bulgarian gymnasts in 1989 on Castledell then read about how they were cheated in 1989 of even the bronze medal...so sad!
