I see an attacking player not a defender to be honest. That explains why he is raked so highly among the worlds greats, it would be impossible for a purely defensive player as attacking is flashy and more easily noticed.

Hes a mix out of the eleganz and creativity of cruyff , set up a game and passing of xavi , shot of hagi , never loosing the ball like zidane , leading a team like maldini , the defensive effort of puyol and the couching of del bosque ! He also had a awesome dribbling and a cool finish ! For the best defender ever and one of the best players ever ! Top 5 with Pele , Cruyff , Zidane and unfortunatly u have to also include maradona ! -.-
