  • Walking that close behind cattle to drive them in to a pen is a good way to get kicked.

  • how is babby formed? how girl get pragnent>

  • Best way is to drop the straws into water at room/air temperature rather than the heated water baths.

  • I always play recordings to the cow of real life mating when I do the AI and have a very high success rate compared with others! I guess I must be doing something right!

  • my grandpa bought a bull from wye a couple years ago and he has thrown alot of bull calfs. before he passed he bought another one and my uncle is usign that one right now cant wait till i see how that one does

  • If you thaw out the semen in water at 37 degrees centigrade for 30 seconds prior to insemination you will increase your conseption rate by 5%

  • Very nice. Glad that we got to see it up close. This was my first year doing A.I. on my herd.

  • Great video, great info, thanks for posting.

  • the calves will stay on the cow for 4-6 months or so, when they are taken off the cow its pretty equivilent of you leaving your parents at 18 or 20 years old. most cows dont live more than 12-15 years old

  • don't you need to pinpoint ovulation? frozen semen has such a short life span

  • Frozen semen can last many years if stored in liquid nitrogen.

  • yes I understand that but once thawed frozen semen has a very shoert lifespan much shorted than chilled or fresh? generally you must be within 12 hours of ovulation?

  • Do these look like dairy cattle to you?? Also you can see the cow walking off with her calf at the end of the video.

  • Great video. Do do this on your own? Or do you work out of a vet's office? What degrees do you have?

  • BTW, this is a great video. Thanks for posting it.

  • Very interesting. How much the average price of a dose of cattle sperm in USA???

  • $10 to $25 depends on bull.

  • As much as you want to spend. I've paid $250 and up. It's not uncommon.

  • about 250

  • where is squeeze chute????

  • It ain't necessary. Only need a squeeze chute if your vaccinating and you don't want a cow jumping all over the place on you when you're trying to stick a needle in her.

  • You're not in front of his truck.. You're behind his truck... LOL

  • I tried to inseminate an Angus at PSU during the early 90s. Dang heifer nearly kicked my leg off at the knee.

  • You have to have a tremendous sense of humor to do that all day long.... :-)

  • My stepfather used to do this. I'd never seen him actually do it, so I was curious. Definitely not anything I'd do for a living, but I bet the pay is good. Very well done documentary.
