A player can't cover/obstruct the puck with his body (other than a goalie) especially if the puck is heading into the net. The ref made the call for a penalty shot. That was the right call in this case. That puck as going in. Lundqvist stoned Briere on the break away. No denying that.

@DQh0ck3y97 i know the ruling. think of it this way, without the defense making that play, its an easy goal no doubt, 100 % chance. with the Dman making that play, it turns it to a 50% chance of being a goal. yes the penalty shot is very exciting.but im pretty sure the nhl would make an overtime game vs. one stupid penalty shot.
