  • excellent...this video touches lives

  • We could use a man like this in our communities today. Instead of Rev Jesse Jack I know that for sure.

  • i think this video really touches alot of ppl's hearts. I watched it in school with the whole class nd they said it really touched them....Martin Luther King changed the lives for different races and i respect him for that! It's a bit like John Lennons case...some ppl are just sick...Martin Luther King had a dream and some sick person killed him and shattered every1n's dreams.....god bless

  • beautiful.........

  • ^ some wrongly think there is more than one way to heaven see video here
  • Having been to many U2 shows, Bono usually corrects himself by saying 'early evening'

  • great version! :-) Love U2!

  • the y take your life but they cun't take your pride

  • beautiful tribute to a beautiful dreamer

little was he to know his own goverment would murder him....

john lennon was a dreamer too they erased him too

we shall overcome in the name of love

    god bless

  • Excellent vocals.

MLK is truly an inspiration to those who value perservearance, vigil, and diligence.

Truly a legendary man that I deeply admire and respect. Rest in peace and may his words resonate for eternity. \m/

  • hi! love this version of this song! do you know where i can download it?

  • Love it... hands down best verison I've heard.

  • Bono has always said he considered his lyrics to this incomplete, as well as for Bad. In the live versions, he correctly usually says 'late afternoon'.

  • MLK. Great great version

  • Martin Luther KING the greatest!!!

very well sung to =) really like this

  • simply beautiful like king say if you cant fly run if you cant run walk if you cant walk strol but by all mean keep moving i thing we have to keep moving as a nation peace

  • Martin luther was a legend and i think it was shamefull for people to treat black people different, white people are no better and im white so dont think of course hed say that he probably is black cus im not but i couldnt care less if i was.

  • Great how John Legend corrected the historical error of the original U2 lyrics...."Late afternoon" instead of "early morning"....that always pissed me off for years.

  • maybe it was early morning in GMT lol

  • Bono has been singing it correctly for years. Live that is.

  • Bono has been singing it correctly for years. Live that is.

  • OK, so who else thought it was "one MAN in the name of love", hahaha. Interesting lyrics, now that I finally know all of them.

I love this version and the original!!! Both give me the chills!!!

  • Any sheet music for this cover? Love it beautiful.

  • Thanks John. Very, very nice job.

  • I usually don't like it when people cover U2's songs, but this one was very well done.

    RIP MLK

  • This song stands out in pop, soul and gospel. I love all versions!

  • Almost 40 years to the hour now, great song, great man!

  • awesome! Ireland can learn a lot!

  • What a moving tribute to the greatest leaders our country has ever had. We are who we are today because of his life. We can be who we want to be tomorrow because of his legacy.

  • Powerful and moving, The best rendition of this U2 track I have ever heard.

  • Bono had been influenced by Stephen B. Oates's book Let The Trumpet Sound: A Life of Martin Luther King, Jr. as well as by a biography of Malcolm X. These caused Bono to ponder the different sides of the civil rights campaigns, but I love the way John sings the song.

  • I've been waiting for a soulful rendition of this song.

  • <3 it..amazing

  • I have to admit I don't know Much about the man except from what you learn in school. I will be interested in learning more about Dr. King.

  • I have yet to see this History Channel presentation, but "Citizen King" from PBS is an outstanding place to start. Some King's speeches are available here on YouTube, I recommend "Why I'm Opposed to the War in Vietnam" and "I've been to the mountaintop". Also dig his books like "Why We Can't Wait" and "A Testament of Hope".

  • This song was written about Dr. King.

  • i am a massive u2 fan. This version of this song is better then u2 version. So moving, Bono would be proud of it. So haunting.

  • Most positive comments ive ever seen, and rightly so!

  • wow

  • Amazing music video. John Legend's version is just incredibly powerfull. Hope History Channel's show on KING is as powerful as this video.
