A BEBOP CAROL orig. on Savoy 931, b/w THE TADD WALK, recorded in NYC, 28 OCT 1947. Tadd Dameron wrote A Bebop Carol, based on Mean to Me chord changes.

The same session waxed 2 vocal ballads: GONE WITH THE WIND (Savoy MG-9023) & Tadd's THAT SOMEONE MUST BE YOU (Savoy MG-9024). Fats plays lovely behind singer Kay Penton on both - unusual for him. The excellent Teddy Reig was session producer.

"Fats" is Fats Navarro, "Bud" is Bud Powell, "Klook" is Kenny Clarke, "Sonny" is Sonny Stitt and "kinney" is Kenny Dorham.
