It's "The king of early evening ITV...", but your lyric seems more logical.
By the way, that second acoustic guitar Mick brings in at the second half is absolute genius. It's the rare occasion that musicians create a true and authentic magical moment, and that solo fits that bill.
The clash seem like their light years ahead of when they recorded song like londons burning when they cut Groovy Times. It was like, just two years apart. Great power pop, awsome song
Hello, Was your single a white label? Mine came inside the sleeve of their first album. I didn't realise at the time it was a US import, no wonder it cost about ten bloody quid in 1980.
@DevoDevoT this as originally on `the cost of living` EP -`west``groovy` `i fought the law` and re-working of `capital radio``-released as a double single
my favorite Clash song. This was available for free in the US on 45rpm it was packaged together with the first Clash album. Joes voice and Micks gutiar is excellent
Soccer!! Never say that word in front of an Englishman. It's most definitely Football, as in a round ball played with the feet, not the egg shaped,carried in the hands game played by the Americans. In the 70's-80's most football matches in England 'kicked off' at 3pm on a Saturday and there was frequently violence on the streets and football terraces between rival fan's of the teams that were playing. In other words football hooliganism.
Hey groovy!

I go all around on U-tube. I love a lot of different music. But guess where I always come back to ? Yes, the only band that matters - The Clash

I remember being in college when I heard that my cat died. He must've been about 16 years old. I was listening to this song when I heard the news.
