  • I dont care if this is a 3 year old video, bt whoever made it is a retard. firstly, the company Trek doesnt have anything to do with the design of the RST shocks, secondly, if this guy has even a little bit of sense he could have written "RST shocks are dangerious" but that brings me to the third point. I have a trek 4700 Alpha with RST shocks on it, the lived for about 5 years till the cylinder got cracked (my own fault) so putting it simply. Shut the fuck up dude !

  • This is a joke, right? Oh, you're serious...

    You're a complete fool.

From this point forward, keep your unfounded opinions off the Internet..

  • After seeing this video and reading the comments it's pretty clear that you're a dick. I've ridden a trek with Bontrager carbon forks for the last two years and it's awesome. Buy a proper bike and not a cheap ass bicycle shaped object.

  • If you do anything on a RST brand anything other than just tool down the road you sir are an idiot. If your trek came with an rst it has to be a model for doing nothing more than going for a ride in the park, and what about your level of skill as far as riding?

  • luckly I´m not so mad and do MTB rides...I stay in triathlon.

And maybe you shold wear a helmet ;)

  • It isn't treks fault it's owner and fork brand if you actually read the manual and use some common sense your suppose to check everything every ride and do a full check(taking it apart, changing the oil if any) every couple of months

  • it's bull shit, this has nothing to do with trek. don't blame trek if you don't know a thing about bike

  • GO for GIANT! still, I like TREK! XD Both ROCK! except the guy in the vid X(

  • what were u riding when it broke anyway

  • man up dude, its not treks fault its rst's fault because they SUCK and when a new bike is bought with any fork its not just rusty springs in the fork, its much more than that and the fork u show 15 seconds into the vid is a shitty old rst from the 90's so it wasnt even rst's fault for your fork breaking its yours because u didnt maintain it and LET it rust on the inside and out and if u mountain bike with that than its time for a new one. stop ripping on trek they ROCK

  • fuck trek. GO Specialized

  • HA! maybe you should just man up.

  • He probably tried to do some free ride/down hill on that thing, got fucked, and is too embarrassed to say so.

  • go to a Trek Store.. not a store that sells trek.. but a TREK store

  • he said recommend other brand forks other than rst because we all know rst forks are a pile of wank!

  • I was so mad at this video. I wanted to go down to the trek factory and kick some butt! Then I started to think, "wait this guy just tricked me, with his awesome animation and good camera work" and now i think he's just an ass munch, that's trying to get over. learn to ride a bike!! and stop blaming the wrong people.

  • I totally agree with slk618 buy a REAL trek not a cheap one made so it can be sold at lower end bike stores. So think before you make a STUPID video making you look retarded

  • you should get a lawyer.

  • This is totally unfair to Trek.

  • @demianslab I tear down to the frame, strip, prime, paint ,grease bearings (replace if worn), and I true my wheels on my 1984 Trek 660 fixed gear. It helps to maintain a bike like mine because they are pretty difficult to keep in tune.

  • stop buying walmart trek bikes and go to the actual trek store buddie. the ones in trek store are much higher quaility!

  • I call major bull-shit. You cornered a retail store guy and asked him? You didn't contact Trek's customer service department? Did you at least explain the gravity of the injuries caused by the failure to the store staff? This is weak, weak, weak. Low end or high end doesn't matter this is the shoddiest example of You Tube yellow journalism I've ever seen.

  • Trek shouldn't be at fault, of course, RST is. However, the way Trek handled this situation doesn't look too good. If all bike shop employees shook off fork malfunctions as being issues that shouldn't be reported, how would the manufacturer know to recall their product? It's a lawsuit waiting to happen if you ask me...

  • i only watch this because of how fail this is

  • lol your a tool, why don't you spend a little bit more on a decent bike and then it wouldn't brake....

  • all bike companies put out a lower end bike. this must have been treks low end model. you get what you pay for. your issue is with rst not trek. re-do this video, you are making yourself look foolish.

  • LOL, what does trek have to do even remotely with rst forks?

  • Dumbass go and complain to RST. Your injury is not eaven serious and I dont know how the hell did You menaged to do that on such simple crash.

  • 100s of makes of bikes use RST forks why you picking on trek .

  • @robhingston: B/c he's obviously a hater.

  • Haha my 820 has sn suntour shocks looks like I'm not smashing my face any time soon

  • @mrtheroosterdude HA yes you will, most likly much quicker then any RST.

  • @hardope705 are you trying to say that Suntours are bad? What about Epicon, Raidon or XCR? these are all suntour models that can stand up to the more expensive brands any day. And they're definatly alot better than anything RST has to offer :L

  • @TomWillDave Totally agree. I had an XCR on my old mountain bike and I'm using an Epicon now. Both perform very well and are of very good quality.

  • Riding a bike isn't necessarily a safe pursuit. Instead of being a victim, take responsibility for yourself. Stuff happens and one must expect it.

  • You morons. How can you say the fork "has nothing to do with Trek"?? It's part of the friggin bike!!! Trek chose cheap forks so they would make more money. SO IT IS their fault, as much as the fork manufacturer's.

  • damn thats a shame. its obvious that you have brain damage now beacuse YOUR RETARDED. Thats not treks fault, its the forks fault. even more its probably your fault. the forks arnt made by Trek you ass wagon

  • your fucking s t u p i d

  • Its a anti reklama for TREK bickes I HAWE GOT A TREK 4300

  • i dont think trek uses rst

rst is out of tres leuge

  • TREK DONTS DANGOURES ITS A FALSE TRES IS A REAL NICE BIKE!

  • In Japan, a BIANCHI caused same accident and the victim have got injured worse than this video's case. The broken suspension was a RST...

In my opinion RST has responsibility to both cases, but I don't think TREK and BIANCHI don't have any responsibility because they sold bikes with their brand. Again, it's "my" opinion.

  • its not Trek"s fault you moron. its RST's .. TREK bikes are the best...

  • aguante trek!!!!! son unos envidiosos

  • I'm sorry to see that you got injured with a Trek Bike. No hard feelings but I have to say that Trek is not responsible for anything other than the frame. If the frame snapped in half while you're riding along under normal conditions, then they will take responsibility. It's like if you were wearing Nike shoes and you got an allergy with your Adidas socks. You don't see Nike for the allergy problem. Sorry mate but you may have to ask RST for this problem. Goodluck and take it easy on RST forks.

  • Hmm.... "The customer service staff at Trek Bicycle Corporation has blah blah blah". Highly doubtful. That sounds like avoiding responsibility by Trek--add that to their negligence. It is true though that RST forks suck no matter what brand bike they're attached to.

  • Oh, by the by... what about all those Merida, Cannondale, Cube, Focus, Schwinn etc bicycles with RST, Zoom, SR Suntour & co. forks? Are they any better?

  • The customer service staff at Trek Bicycle Corporation has had the opportunity to inspect this fork. Its obvious this bicycle has been stored outside for many years. While we are sorry this incident occurred; the route cause of this accident was clearly due to extreme rust from years of neglect and mis-use.

  • This video makes me lol. It's not TREK's fault if you do jumps with an RST or SR Suntour fork.

I have Rock Shox Dart 2 and Tora installed on my bikes and they work flawlessly.

  • Rst fork is deep shit. That's why good bike did'nt have that type of fork. That's only for kids not for mountain biking.
