  • The picture at ):36 - I saw this in an airplane magazine once; George looks so much like Liam Gallagher! Thankfully it is only this pic!

  • @AshtonArcher i think Gallagher looks like George

  • George! one helluva songwriter and , now that I'm older I clearly see he was the ONE man to play lead guitar for that band. Thanks George and thanks for posting this inside look.

  • Yer not the same with them scousers man pure class

  • damn the world clearly sucks without Harrison and Lennon

  • does he say, "you know like the townshend melody" at 0:30 ??

  • @SimplyLivedMan no he says counter melody. A melody that is different than the lead but plays along with it

  • "screwdriver"

  • :'D

  • All the songs went this way, they have to be played out with all the instruments and so why point to Georges songs as being any different?

He wrote the f-ing song- so get over it! It is Georges song!

  • @theloosegoose333 That is correct. All their songs went thru 20 studio sessions. The end results were a mix of many musical versions. We only hear the final cut on the albums.

  • john & george

    ringo & paul

  • nice melody by john there ;D

  • Thank God they didn't sing it this way in the end....horrible.

  • @Rexicano no it isn't

  • @Korn1holio

Nobody cares what you think Korn Hole...and what a name there...you must be a complete tool. Fucked up in the head.

  • @Rexicano well nobody cares what you think either,... troll

  • Frame 00:35 ---- a riff on this song I've never heard before. Must learn on guitar! Its at that part where he uses that descending F# minor chord and then throws in a seventh at the end but he's doing something different there.....

  • wow..... john... makin' it sound all strawberry and onion -ey i heard there was this really good band from england ...back in the '60's.

  • screwdriver!

  • that song is a poetich is sooo beattifull nice i love it

  • ringo is just like "I wish john would light up some more of his dope, he has the best shit"

  • like a califlower

  • Paul is thinking "can we move onto one of my tunes now please?"

  • I kinda like the high melody!

  • Attracts me like no OTHER LOVER, come on, it's so obvious! lol

  • @DWGuitar111 Lol, that's how artists get sometimes, it's right in front of their face, but their mind is just blocked.

  • This is just so BEAUTIFUL :'D I mean, I love the official version of the song a lot too, but I just love the chords in this! Just imagine if they did it like this instead... weird. c[: I don't have anything against the real one, I'm just sayin' that this is really pretty. :3

  • Where did you get this recording???????

  • Really very interesting--this process is amazing.

  • Where did you find this clip? It's very interesting :)

  • Something in the way she moves, attracts me like a cauliflower. I like it!

  • never heard this before, thanks

  • theres an 11 minute session fro this song :D

  • i love this <3

  • @ThatHoopGirl Spoken(?) no, but written and expressed like a die hard fan of George Harrison. He was a musician in his own right. Give me love, give me love, give me peace on earth, give me life

  • @meanjeanass They sought him 'cause he knew more chords than any or them. The youngsta.'[

  • screwdriver* xD

  • LOOL someone shouted SCREWDRIVE around 0:24 xD

  • @mipuck97 John

  • James Taylor recorded 'Something in the way she moves" for his debut album on Apple records and thats where George got the idea - thats how i heard it anyway!

  • @2hamboigahs You are Correct !!! George STOLE THIS SONG from James Taylor. Just as George Harrison STEALS everything he wrote . Don't forget , George was ALSO Sued in Court for stealing "He's so Fine", and used the EXACT SAME MELODY, HARMONY , SAME CHORDS, George STOLE the Entire Song , it was EXACTLY THE SAME. And George LOST the case. So , Geroge was NOT a song writer. George was Barely a beginner the ENTIRE TIME with the Beatles.

  • @Velvet4U Yeah, just like he stole Within You, Without you. While My Guitar gently Weeps, Long Long Long, Savoy Truffle, Taxman, Here Comes the sun....and so on. In the case of He's so fine...it wasn't the same...it was SIMILAR. , if you read any thing, the judge said in the case of "He's so fine," it was actually Billy Preston's fault in the recording..., not George in writing. To me, you just extremely jealous...or something

  • @otterj6 Ok, ok , but could you say that John and Paul "HELPED" George with his songs as a "Finished" product. Having said that , John & Paul DIDN'T NEED George's help to "complete THEIR" songs. Also, George would not have been successful WITHOUT the other Beatles. The only reason , people listened to George's solo career, was because he was an Ex-Beatle. Also, I would NOT have bought an album with the list of songs you mentioned.

  • @Velvet4U Well George didn't have much help from the other Beatles. Paul and John many times refused to help George.. Within You Without You was completely written/composed and produced WITHOUT any other Beatle imput. And it's not true, I would have listened to George not knowing he was a Beatle. He did have the most successful solo career outside the Beatles. All Things Must Pass went Platinum. And I totally would have bought the White Album for While my Guitar Gently weeps alone.

  • @Velvet4U So, does that make it only 999,999 sold?

  • @Velvet4U That's amazing. I'm listening to James Taylor singing "Something in the Way She Moves" and it's also exactly identical except for the words, pacing and melody. But it does use the title in the lyrics, so it's obvious that George stole the song from James Taylor! Just like John stole "Strawberry Fields Forever" from a Salvation Army house of the same name.

All the Beetles songs were polished in committee.by the whole band together. Who wrote them?

  • @Hikikomori013 He didn't "stole" it, He used it. James Taylor was an Apple Artist at this time.

Strawberry Field is a place, It can't be stolen. Its like you were telling me I'm stealing lyrics if I sing that I live in London.

  • @lyjo21 Why, yes. I do believe you understand my point.

  • I wonder who actually wrote this song????

  • @aaronok1 As I heard, George wrote the music and lyrics with discussions with the others (particularly John Lennon), then the band worked together on the final arrangement.

John wasn't sure about the direction since it was just a rather simple ballad, but he admitted that the final version was the right approach after all.

It was George's first really good song as he matured as a writer, and some consider it one of the best Beatles songs ever.

  • @Hikikomori013 Actually Something not really one of his best songs, just well known. Long Long Long is said to be one of the most under rated song of the Beatles. And then there is Within You Without You. George wasn't really a "pop music" writer...like Paul or John...his style and songs were much more alternative and therefore doesn't get the credit.

  • Wouldn't you just DIE to see a video of this? Man... What a beautiful collection of brains working together!

  • What's interesting is listening to Paul sing great harmony with George briefly and contemplating the song without the hideous double tracking that was used on the album.

  • The Mystic Maestro at his very best. Cancer stole away George, and the world has been a sadder place because of it. Cancer took my soul-mate, my wife, as well. Try to keep these great love songs alive in your hearts, good people.

  • Geniuses.

  • Y' know, I kinda like the higher bit. But it's still a beautiful song. Bless you Paul.

  • The whole recording of this is agravating, You end up after 10 minutes screaming at the radio. At one point in the recording john (or paul) yells out "Pommy granet" (thats about the point i start screaming. I swore if i ever had a time machine and could only use it once, This would be the time i would have used it just to duck my head in that room say my name and say "Attracts me like no other woman" and then duck out.

  • Something in the way she moves/ Attracts me like a cauliflower

  • @bauersnarky Yeah, those words would have worked much better. There's nothing that says "True Love" than when you say "Cauliflower" Cauliflower is the perfect way to say "I Love You"

  • Gimme shelter

  • George Harrison: screw it I will sing lead and you guys just play the instruments.

  • The beatles would block out a song sometimes using nonsense words or leaving spaces blank in terms of words. then they would sing it over and over until they found the word(s) they wanted. One funny example was "how many --(blank)-- it takes to fill the albert hall." lennon sang this over and over till a guy painting the studio walls who had been there all along turned around and screamed at him, "holes...HOLES!!!". Lennon looked stunned then said, "thankyou!" and used it.

  • @zyxquark haha! how do you know this?

  • These guys knew what creative collaboration could truly meant. They ALL put a piece of themselves in each album. Even if they all didn't write an equal amount of solo tracks, they each still made every song special by adding their own unique personalities and talents.

  • Based on this, and this alone, it looks like John knew the direction the song should go in. George was going for high and passionate, but John was keeping the melody down low. These guys could create great, wonderful, classic music that will be remembered forever without each other -- but they could create the best music of all time with each other.

  • @superman11978

High and passionate doesn't seem altogether bad. I prefer the Concert for Bangladesh version of this song.

  • this version is so amazing.

  • screwdriver.

  • john lennon is a master of nonsense (in a literary aspect)... and that gift is very rare.

  • Why is it that everyone assumes Lennon was the word-smith behind the Beatles, he has retired into history as a legend on the coat tails of a fucking nutter. Had it not been for his 'assassination', and I loathe that misrepresentation of his untimely demise, Lennon would be simply known as one of the Beatles. The truth is it was McCartney who supplied the fuel to our beloved engine. If you beg to differ, by all means look at their relative contributions between Nov '65 and Dec '66...Lennon..pft.

  • @Migglyman Norwegian Wood, Girl, Nowhere Man, In My Life, Day Tripper, Tomorrow Never Knows, Rain and Strawberry Fields Forever were all John's songs written in that 1 year period of time. Yes, Paul wrote some even better songs in that period, but by no means were they laughably better. And I guess his solo career with songs like Imagine, Instant Karma, Cold Turkey, Give Peace A Chance, Mind Games and Whatever Gets You Through The Night is forgettable, too? Give me a break.

  • @kevin4peace Also, John sang all the BEST Early Beatle songs, which I feel JOHN had the most unique & BEST rocker voice, that no one else in the world could match. Such as "Twist & Shout", "From Me To You" "It Won't Be Long" "Please Mr. PostMan", "I'll Cry Instead" "I'm a Loser", "I Call Your Name" "Rock & Roll Music"

  • @Migglyman - Fine. You take "Tell Me What You See," "Michelle," and "Here, There and Everywhere," and leave me "Ticket to Ride," "The Word" and "Tomorrow Never Knows."

  • ._. now in spanish?

  • Something in the way she poots...

  • George had such an attitude when he sarcastically asked Paul what the lyrics should be. Paul should've pimp-slapped him!

  • Johns example included the words 'attracts me'

  • @emmitt1 Yeah, John was definitely a word-guy.

  • It is John who invents the final melody.....

  • @greencharlies wow. he sure did.

george was singing a higher melody.

  • How could George sing that good, he's a smoker!

  • @SamsonOff7 The Beatles smoke, not only George

  • @QueenieG7 ty fanGirl,

  • @SamsonOff7 They all were. It was the 60s.

  • @heyummrandommuch I don't see the point in commenting On my coment. I didn't ask If he smoked If the beatles smoked or if anyone in the 60's smoked.

  • @SamsonOff7 Why are you mentioning that the Beatles Smoked. I didn't ask you to comment on the Beatles smoking !! So don't ever talk about the Beatles smoking ever again, because none of the Beatles ever smoked any cigarettes ! In fact , each of them ran 15 miles a day, and John and Paul were marathon runners, so smoking would not have helped them. I think John ran 2:10 and Paul ran a 2:08 marathon.

  • @Velvet4U The Beatles smoked excessively buddy. Nothing against the band, cuz they're the greatest, but its true

  • @Velvet4U fuck off. Obviously you see em smoking in the studio & what not. I did not say all the beatles smoked, Only George If you read my comment you would know that. Don't be such a dick.

  • wow.......

  • Is this from the Get Back Sessions?

  • where'd u get this?!

  • @XenoType008 thats my favorite part i always replay from there after it reaches the end i think it should be used 2 times that is what was helping me remember how to find the name to hear this perfection of art

  • this is really cool, give a little insight on how they worked sometimes

  • Something about this song..

  • This comment has nothing to do with anything, but WHAT on EARTH would go down if I set I Furby down right in front of them. Just.... what would they do then. Yeah, they'd be confused. >:D Ha ha! Then I'd walk off and leave them to freak out over the existence of a robot.

  • that chorus...thanks god martin

  • cauliflower..lol

  • Frank Sinatra once said this was the most beautiful song ever written!!! Now that is a compliment.

  • @crazyromanian1 - Wow, again with the "Frank Sinatra"

compliment? Look, sorry to break this to you but Sinatra's

compliment was a misunderstanding. The 87 year old

Sinatra had been talking about "Yesterday" throughout the

interview and then suddenly stated "Something" was the

greatest song ever recorded"...not realizing he'd changed

names. The reporter tried to clarify: "Yesterday" or

"Something"? "Frank replied "something" and proceded

to sing a bar from "Yesterday". He meant YESTERDAY.

  • @ArgentineExpel4Fraud

If you watch Frank's cover of "Something" he states it's the greatest love song ever written, if that's what you're referring to.

  • @ArgentineExpel4Fraud

Does it feel good to know that you have to lie about George Harrison to attack him? Frank Sinatra said Something was the most beautiful love song; not Yesterday. He didn't cover Yesterday, he covered Something.

I suppose a paraplegic sodomized asshole like yourself would just respond with, "BUT HE MEANT TO COVER YESTERDAY!" though. Am I right? Bitch?

    UmadbrO? Umad at George?

  • @nafaidni- The 87 year old Sinatra said the same

thing about a dozen other songs. He challenged

Sinad O'Conner to a fist fight. He had just given up

on the Rat Pack reunion because Dean Martin was

not interested. In his last years Frank Sinatra was

incontinent, alcoholic and suffering a heart condition.

His voice, his health and some even say his MIND

were gone. Considering his state of mind, even if HE

HAD meant to say "Something", it was of little value.

No, I'm not "mad". I'm right!

  • @ArgentineExpel4Fraud

And I suppose Eric Clapton, Elvis Presley, Joe Crocker, Shirley Bassey, and Johnny Rodriguez were also incontinent alcoholics suffering from heart conditions when they, among 150+ other artists, covered this song. Right?

And I suppose the US population was alcoholic, seeing as three or so of these versions were in the Billboard 100 simply by being COVERS. Imagine, what song could be so successful when covered so many times already? Not Imagine, I'm sure.

  • @ArgentineExpel4Fraud

P.S. Sinatra died in 1998. This quote was from the 1960's-1970's. Cunt.

  • @nafaidni I think he did cover Yesterday...hasn't everyone? Hell - Bing Crosby did Hey Jude! I'm pretty sure its on YouTube...I know that's not the point you're trying to make - he did single "Something" out as the greatest something-or-other of the 20th Century.

Funny - all these crooner types covering Beatles songs. You wonder if their attitude changed from 1964 through whenever they started covering them (70s?) or if they just did it to pander to a younger audience?

  • The counter harmony - sounds very much like Bad Finger's "Dear Angie" Makes me wonder - I know that the gibson SG Pete Ham uses in the "No Matter What " video was George's SG from the Revolver days. makes me wonder what else they may have gotten from george. wow!

  • @marrotv1 probably a stretch - but ya never know!

  • "Something in the way she moves--attracts me like....a......cauliflower!"

"Something in the way she moves--attracts me like....a......screwdriver!"

    haha LMFAO

  • Something in the way she moves...attracts me like a cauliflower....(John's suggestion)!!

  • "Something in the way she moves.. attracts me like cauliflowers" hahahaha

  • Oh George, where did you come from?

  • theres actually an 11 minute session of this :D

  • When George sings in the end there, my heart flutters...and I'm a straight guy.

  • @GuyInLove7 I had read that George played a part of Something to one of the studio aides at the end of the White Album sessions (before they recorded Piggies). It was suggested George record Something instead, but Harrison said something about giving it to Jackie Lomax. Something would have been a nice addition to the White Album and could have allowed George to offer one of his many other great songs during the Abbey Road sessions (Isn't It A Pity, All Things Must Pass among others).

  • @GuyInLove7

the love of the spirit is never sexual

    George #1

  • @GuyInLove7 , LOL! it's the power of George's voice babe. There was always "something" about George & his music that touches the heart and soul. :-)

  • @kaitopenguin George looks Mexican? That's funny... I didn't see no lawnmower near him...

  • @ZackTheGopher That is rude. Not all Mexican's are lawnmowers. Wow, you're so ignorant.

  • @hauntboy Oh ok.

  • Whoa! I like this version they were singing, with the high harmony part :)

Who was singing the high part, anyway..?

  • @MileygirlJ12 John

  • John Lennon @0:08: Just say whatever comes into your head each time;

    "Attracts me like a cauliflower"

    Official Abbey Road version:

"Attracts me like no other lover"

Maybe John should've received songwriting credits, hmmm"?:

  • @VdGGfan No He shouldn't, this is Georges song...

  • Something in the cauliflower ?

  • i love George and this is one of my favourtie songs by him. and i have never heard this outtake before, thanks for sharing :)

  • @madfrog1962 I think that's George Martin.

  • Hey, pattie Boyd was not a posh bird, she was hot

  • Nice to hear them getting along in this track and floating ideas!

  • proof that George did not wright this song for that posh bird he was married to at that time...

  • Ah this is great, thanks for posting!!

  • God I love George's voice xD

  • @SweetChick10101

    Me too =) George's so a cutie!!

  • @SweetChick10101 jajaja is said he was the worst singing

  • @chukumalo um......... fail.

  • @SweetChick10101 is the true if you listen to his firsts songs. his voice is terrible but then he was improving

  • @SweetChick10101 so do I

  • Cool! Where'd you find the audio?

  • @bigmigs94

    There are so much bootlegs...

I found this one by accident !!

It's one the so called "Anthology Outtakes"

I was hoping to hear a unreleased "Something" version,

instead they were talking about cauliflowers *laugh*

but it was a pretty nice find :)

  • @LittleHarrisonGirl

Thanks a lot. A great discovery. Beautiful harmonies.
