I witnessed something very similar to this happen at Hampton Beach New Hampshire last Spring. A thunderstorm was moving through the area. it was followed by a sudden downpour and strong gusty winds which lasted about 20 minutes. I found refuge in Wallys Pub, ordered a beer and waited it out.
